Wow, QueenB just what this post needed another shot of realism.
It is a shame because like you I had not even a handful of black teachers in my entire life. It's really sad, I just wish teacher"s pay was much higher any way you look at it you are shaping and molding young ones lives. The amount of hard work and dedication some techers have they couldn't pay you enough in my book.

My goodness I love Step! Howard University used to have an awesome Step team. I love seeing the guys Step one of my favorite things to see. I did see a competition on tv, it's a real cool art that not many have witnessed. May God bless you it gives one strength to read things of this nature.

Thank you for sharing QueenB. I like you did not have EVEN ONE Black teacher...let me repeat that NOT EVEN ONE. I also did not have any Asian teachers just White folks all the way through. There was a Black math teacher at my high school (the head of the math department) but I never had him. The first time I had a Black person teach me was a college. My creative writing teacher was Black. Then when I went to University in Canada I had one Black professor and I also had one Black prof at Graduate school in the US.

first he denied saying it, then apologised perfusedly.

When I returned to Jamaica with my family to visit my grandmothers when I was a teenager. I was blown away by it. We had Calypso and mento at our house and my aunt had brought some ska when she migrated to Canada but I had never heard reggae.
