Kia mi did see mi Grampa do something similar but is a nail him drive in the tree above his grandson's head and let him recite the Lords prayer and whe him leaving from the tree he should not look back and it worked my cousin dont have asthma again and thats been 20 odd years.
My grandfather had asthma as a boy and that what tehy did to him too and he nevr had asthma again and he live to be alomost 88 years old.

These are some of the few I remember ole time people would say... some seriously believed in these superstitions.
