Since (according to his rendition of the story), she gave at least two payments to his parents (one for $20k and one for $150k) for him, it seems to me at least part of his beef should be with them. Where's the money that she gave to them, part of which (again by his words) was presumably to have been for him (maybe they all felt that as a man in his early 20's he was too young to manage it(???)? I still contend that he could have left at any time. No one held a gun to his head and forced him to become a "kept" man. It's classic - people get caught up in material things. She made choices, but so did he.

Anyways, I don't hope bad for either of them. It's a sad, painful situation for all concerned parties. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Jonathan made a choice to come to America. From the sound of it he had ulterior motives (we all do, some good and some bad ones). Why should she have to take care of him? He is a grown azz man. He didn't lose nothing by marrying her (other than staying deeper in the closet)sounds like to me had many benefits (financial).

I don't buy the fact that he just found out he was gay, bi-sexual or whatever! If so why did he say he would be ostracized if he was sent back to Jamaica? For being in a relationship that didn't work or for being gay? He know the real reason why he felt compelled to sign a unfair prenup No sir, he is not speaking the truth, again my opinion.

If what he say is true that she said when the marriage ended, he should have prepared hisself for the inevitable.

He need to quit the whining and expecting her to take care of him and gone bout his bizness. Just my 2cents. I have not read her response, this is just my take on his side of the story!

I find it hard to believe that Ms. McMillan did not know that this man was gay. If she was 19 years old and had a sheltered life, maaaaaaybe. But a woman of 53, who went to college at Berkley, spent most of her professional life in the world of the arts and whose favorite topic in her books is sexuality ?????



Which leads to the question: why would a woman take a gay man into their bed...even if it just a suspicion on their part ?

I ponder this question also, and what baffles me the most is why would a woman keep a man that she suspected to be gay in her bed? I guess some people see RED FLAGS and instead of acknowledging or investigating, they tend to trample over them (RED FLAGS) there are always signs in any relationship if it doesn't indicate to STOP , certainly it indicates that we should proceed with CAUTION !

On a serious tip, I think it is possible that at his age when he married his sexuality may not have been clear to him yet. There are some kids in grade school that I just knew would be gay (and they were). There were others (one being one of my best friends who honestly did not know until she was in her 30's) who are late bloomers sexually.

Also as far as "what he knew he was getting into" when he signed the prenup... think back to when you were 20 or 21, were you that cagey then? I know I wasn't.

Like I have said many times before--You just don't wake up one morning and say "Oh I am gay"...I have heard that alot of start off playing with dolls or hanging with girls or putting on their mother's high heals etc etc etc----I hung around alot of gay men in High School who knew very well what there were and that was before the age of twenty.

It's just a gradual process which takes stages to go through, like a flower that blooms the seed was there all the time. I am definitely not going to buy the fact that they are cluless about their sexual desires but more so surpressed the fact of what they truly are. There is a struggle that exist within their own world and because of this they want to remain in the closet, afraid of not being excepted and so they deny who they really are when knowing all the time.

So you stand thinking that this is somthing new to you about who they really are when in fact it's old news to them. I have hung out in gay clubs with my gay male friends in the past going only because they were friends of mines and even traveled with them. And just to get the facts straight I am strictly dickley okay! I just have a rainbow of friends.

I will say this one more time! Stella knew what she was dealing with believe me, I know! You can fool some of the people some of the time and half of the people some of the time but you can't fool MOM!(me)

I know some divorces get nasty, and some of the participants will become vindictive or just down right evil. Somebody has to take the high road or be a bigger person.

In regards to him signing the pre-nup, if he honestly sign it because, he just loved T, why cry foul now? He is certainly not in a worse financial situation then when he met her. Of course he had become accustomed to a certain life style, however, this seems to be a lifestyle that was provided for by T, he was on the receiving end, even if he has issues with how much he was receiving and the reasons he was receiving it.

The lifestyle has run its season, get over it and move on! By the way, I would feel the same way if it was a woman crying foul after signing a pre-nup.
