Update from Ochi:

Although the wind has picked up a bit in the last hour or so, it is not all that bad here in Ochi. From what I can see, it looks like the weather is a bit rougher near the sea. The eye is getting closer and I am sure that conditions will worsen but this is nothing compared to Ivan. I hope everyone else fares as well as us!

It has been categorized as a 3 now. Wind and rain are picking up here in Mobay. I'm surprised my cable is still working. TVJ is still out and CVM is showing cartoons. Of course the Weather Channel is concentrating on warning the US. Shows very little about Jamaica. I guess I know about as much as all of you.

Q: I'm trying to keep a stiff upper lip but quite frankly this stuff scares the HE double toothpicks outta me.

No cable on for me, TVJ and CVM on.

We got lights..we got power..I been on line thinking the power was going to go.

Now that's what really surprises me. The utilities are doing a good job for once.

One consolation: Ted cooked curry chicken, boiled breadfruit, yellow yam, veggies for lunch. Told me to calm down and jus nyam and forget about the big boy. Now that's my kind of man. :love:

BB: Thanks so much for the pics. It brings it closer to home for me to be able to see the other side of the island. We have another lull in the weather. It has been doing this for hours. Rain real hard and wind blow horribly, then everything stop. Then it starts up again.

My husband and I are suppose to be traveling to Jamaica (Negril) on Saturday and staying for a week. We are not sure if we should cancel or not. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we should do? Thanks
