I mean, all you have to do is pedal so why do I wobble all over the place? ND finds it hilarious but it's not doing my confidence much good, especially when she can ride my bike which is bigger than hers! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

I thought about trying again this afternoon, but I don't have the nerve . Will probably try tonight when it's dark and, hopefully, my neighbours are away from their curtains/doorstep

Here is how I learned. Carry di bike next to di curb. Sit on di bike and make sure yu foot stay on the curb and the other foot on the pedal. den push off wid yu foot but stay right by di curb. Jus fi get comfortable an gain some kind of balance.

Den when yu feel seh yu ok wid dat, TRY to put yu foot dats on the curb on the pedal. den don't look @ yu feet [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Watch di road - yu will fall dung couple times. But just get up an gwaan chroo again [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] It helps if di seat nuh high up awfa di grung dat way yu can always break yu fall if anyting [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Speaking of break, don't forget where di brakes are...But back brakes better dan front brakes so figure out which is di back brakes (probably di one on your right hand) and use those.

And yes, doing it away from judging eyes is a good idea

It gets easier every time. Hopefully the bike is YOUR size. If not...you'll always wobble.

when I was say 8 my pappa put me on his bicycle and it gave Ms Mary one squeeze- that was the first and the last. the ones at the gys i find i do a better job riding backways [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img]
