The doctor gave my brother shampoo designed to kill off the lice. The other option is to shave off all of the hair.

NO... apparently they secure themselves to the hair - you need a special comb to remove them - good idea to also wash bedding, hats, hoodies etc

Remind kids not to share hats / combs etc

Blacks ususally don't get it just because of the things we use in our hair. They like dry scalp and hair to breed in. I've worked in daycare for 6 years and I've never come across a black to get it.

One of the little girl"s that I use to take care of her mom said she got it from school. She said it is very hard to treat you have to sit there and treat every single strand of hair. Besides that you have to wash everything like bedcovers and clothes pillows etc.

Next thing she knew the baby sister had picked it up.

Another nasty thing is worms living in the anus area, you can't see them but the parents say if you shine a flashlight on the kid"s bum you will see them sqirming around.
