Thanks for the support everyone. Don't know how many more of these slaps in the face I can take from my Christian brothers but I am hanging in there. I think it would be a good idea for me to just change the subject if racial topics happen to come up when I am with one of my Caucasian brother or sisters in Christ. They rarely GET it and often end up saying something offensive and hurtful. It's just not worth it.

Also, I have fought it for a long time but possibly some singles ministry for Black women.

Thank you , thank you H(anna)h. By the way, I shared my correspondence with the individual I mentionned earlier with my pastor. Here was my pastor's response:

He's a jerk! And jerks come in all sizes. He's a pretty big one. Thanks for the heads up.

Guess I have to remember about the sheep and the goats...the wheat and the tares and not let these people get to me so much.

Nowhere does it say it is easy, and even in fact it is harder to bring those others up.

Don't give up on people, many may not even know what they are saying and will require your effort to do what's often called, stopping the world. It may not even happen until many years down the line.

That's the way enlightenment works.

But rudemonk...they are not even open to influence. First they fight you and deny that there is racism insisting that YOU are the problem and YOU are making it up. If you continue the conversation, you will eventually get to the point where they confess how they REALLY feel about Black people. You should hear some of the things that get said about Black men.

That's the part about it being hard. The thing is, how can your average white person, for example, know how they are benefitting from racism. Think about it- they go for an apartment, how would they know they got it because they were white over someone who was black? From what they know, they simply got a nice place. Or a job. To them, it is just normal, and they might not even know someone else was denied due to race, right on the first call.

Nobody likes to hear about themselves in a poor fashion. The sad truth is the whole ball of wax was rolled up on racism in the first place so it's right there in the fibre of our society, but few will ever come to grips with it or want to. I know sometimes you never get the chance to illustrate the issue, because most of the time the only way they could ever understand is to be something they are not, either that or they have an experience of something that causes the disconnect necessary to see this **** for what it is. Also, in the mix, is the fact that many Christians are ****ty ones.

Mind now the parable of the sewer, and see the truth of it in action right there.

Maybe gift them a book by Grace Halsell.
