Dominica, anyone?

Anyone been to the island of Dominica?

It attracts me cos it's off the beaten track, non-commercial and has the last virgin rainforest in the Caribbean....

Only trouble is - or that might be a good thing! - there are no direct flights, you have to go thru St.Lucia or Guadaloupe or Martinique (there's a ferry too!).
(Or further afield, Barbados or St. Martin).

Hmmm, looks like I'll have to wait till my son is independent, and I have more than a week off to do it in (and lots of money LOL).

Any info much appreciated!

Well, Dr. Dudd, I was planning to go to the Blue Mountains but was refused entry for not having a pre-booked hotel room.... (seems they don't like/trust ruck-sack travellers who wanna go with the flow......).

This was April 2008, but that is another story.....and all water under the bridge now...
