Not a popular topic..

Haiti had been under the heel of France for a long time

Some made a deal with Satan to get out from under the French and has been cursed ever since.

Not really France.
But the good old uSA.
A library visit on the history of Haiti, and it is the biggest secret in open view.
And it say a lot about thehistory of US inteerventiionist action,too. What’s compounding the tragedy even more is that the hospitals are inoperable and it makes treating the injured in a sanitized facility impossible.

Mi feel it fi dem .. I hope that when they do rebuild they re-consider how to build these structures. They can’t keep building concrete slab buildings.. that’s a recipe for disaster [no pun intended]

They can always consider. They simply can't afford to build it.
2 years ago when the school collapse and they had 150 injuries, they hospital was overwhelmed.
All of 90 children died out of that one school collapse.
And it was not a large structure either. It collapsed under it's own weight.
So Even If all the hospitals are fully functional they were in no position to do much.
Any country with a life expectancy in the 40's, sat a lot about THE health services available.
Haiti has a high mortality rate even in the best of time. France just work with the US. It was the Us that instigated it.
After they weakened teh Haitian forces, by having them assists in the US independence.
The French who was also an ally of the US, was only too happy for the opportunity, to what they thought would have resulted in the recolonization of Haiti.
What happen instead was the US recolonized it, but the french got paid, by the Haitians,not the real colonizers.
History is really interesting.
What a disgrace.
The Haitians sent soldiers to assist the US to fight Britain and the Us paid them by turining against them.
My grandfather use to say be careful of those who offer their hand to shake.
They may just hold your hand and stab you.

Jamaica is not really independent.
So ther is nothing to be gained, when you change the label without any real policy changes.
Independence Is about economics. Politics is only a tool of econolics.
You can't do a label change to a tool, but use it to do the same job, and expect to see any real benefit.
