Aristide wants to return

The former Haitian president, Jean Bertrand Aristide, who's living in exile in South Africa, has offered to return home to help in the reconstruction efforts.

Mr Aristide was ousted in 2004.

Appearing with his wife in Johannesburg on Friday, he said friends were ready to give him a plane to go back with emergency supplies.

Mr Aristide refused to take questions after making his brief statement.

They don't need more religious nuts, the Presidential Palace is totalled and he is too small to be used for blocking roads.

Send the plane with the supplies, sans Arse-stride!

The crooks that kicked him out didn't do any better.

the majority of the corrupted lot they empower, may have died in the parliament buildings anyway.

Us never allow it anyway.
since he may give some hope the the Haitians.
And it would be against the policy of teh US to strengthen black people anywhere.
Even when ther is a black president in the white house.

The last thing they'll need is this nut returning!!

But the REAL issue would be AFTER this initial effort...with 9million people destitute, it will present an added burden for the region that they could do without.

I think a way forward would be a council overseeing the development of Haiti (sans les Francais!!) made up of Caribbean states and US input (with present incumbent ).

Haitians are fully capable of developing their own country if they get adequate support.
