Seen here with the Prime Minister, Hon. P. Christie and the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the background, Hon. Fred Mitchell.
From State Dept.:
"Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice traveled to Nassau, The Bahamas, on March 21-22 to participate in a meeting with CARICOM foreign ministers. The Secretary discussed U.S. engagement in the Caribbean and our desire to deepen cooperation with countries in the region to promote democracy, enhance economic competitiveness, strengthen security and the rule of law, and improve disaster preparedness.
The Secretary also met with Bahamian Prime Minister Perry Christie to discuss U.S.-Bahamian relations".

"deepen cooperation with countries in the region to promote democracy, enhance economic competitiveness, strengthen security and the rule of law, and improve disaster preparedness."
Say what...? Come again...
I especiall like the "improve disaster preparedness" part, yes, the us is the best when it comes to disaster preparedness - the gulf coast is a prime example of the us government's disaster recovery program.
We teach them a thing or two about disaster preparedness and recovery - couldah bright...:cuteye:
