Yeah, but not all speak the Creole or Patois. Many of the younger ones like my hubby speak strickly English...just with a French accent. However, my mother-in-law speaks fluent Creole (or broken French as some call it)... it's actually kind of interesting. It's funny, they usually will end a question with "nuh" when they speak English. "What's the price of the bread nuh"? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I found Dominicans one of the easiest - unless they switched to Patois, and I was told that a lot of the younger ones don't know that at all.

Hard to understand can be any of them, especially if you're trying to converse with someone from out in the bush.

Did not even occur to me that some people from there would be unable to
speak it. I hope that it does not get loss entirely, after all it’s a creation of the Diaspora throughout the Caribbean, our resistance to being forced to speak a different language. We created our own out of theirs.
