Heard that there may be quite a number of Jamaican descendants living in Costa Rica especially since Jamaicans went to Costa Rica many years ago to help build and implement the train transportaton system.

The Mexican blacks were brought there aas slaves by the Spanish.
After they were unsuccessful in profitably enslaving the indiginous people.
They were prevented from inter-breding with the Ondiians,up until &lt;exican Independence. This was when slavery eas permantly abolished. Incidentally slavery was abolished in Mexico by making it a capital offence to enslave people.
after this there was much intermarriages. ASlthouigh there arre some states that has a majority balk/indian mix. But the africans like we kniw is not that visible.
They majority of the decenndants don't even know their African heritage.
Incidentally I was told by a friend of Mexican heritage that their most revered 'saint' is a black woman.

About Costa Rica now. They majority of Africans there was brought from the West Indies. Mostly Jamaicans . Jamaicans actually populated a lot of the Latin American black demography.
Brought there by the Americans to establish banana plantatiins. rail systems and the Panama canal. Some were eve brought to some Islands off the cost of venezuala,that was controlled by Britain,but was ceceeded to venezuala,and the population was left there .
Many decendants still speak Jamaican engkish ti this day. Altgough their country speak Spanish.
As a resultv they have to educate their children, in th ecommunity. Since there is no state sponsored school there.

<span style="color: #009900">It's a good thing that people can always find ways to survive and sometimes they do it in ways that far exceed even some of those who have the opportunity right under their noses.

If we all, including those in authority in diverse places, would just understand that the denial of any group in one setting... ultimately leads to the denial of another faction in its society... in ways we sometimes cannot even begin to imagine...we would be more willing to look out for each other.

In other words, let's be fair and honourable in all our dealings.

Their ancestors have come and built up your country; why would you not open opportunities for them by the provisions you make? Aye sah!</span>

Understand that the Caribs in Dominica ...(I guess we mean their descendants...hmmm...)...have a somewhat interesting custom. Children will inherit the land from parent...but...and here's the rub...one child will inherit the actual land and the next sibling will be the one to get the coconut or fruit trees growing on the land.

And so will it be until th eeducated amongst us,stop seeing themselves as some ' special class' of bllacks,that the hoard will not trample after they are through trampling on those 'other' blacks.I have seen more and more th eevidence of oppulent blacks acting as if they have it 'made'. Not realizing that they are just one step away from fighting all over for our civil rights. The step is a long one,but it is a long way down from their pedestal. The reality is that it takes just as long to destroy the bll;acks at th ebase s th eones at th etop.
As a matter of fact the ones at the base (and some at the top i sonly willing to help their felloe blacks down from their perch.

i know a few costa rican blacks...speak spanish also, but they speak the jamaican dialect when speaking english...the young ones who were born here no longer speak the j'can dialect though
