I think that the homosexuals came up with "gay". It was an alternative they selected as opposed to the dozens of names they were being called previous to its being adopted as the new 'moniker'.

It really seems [as it has been shown over and over and over for decades-centuries in countries around the world] that the catholic church in particular has provided a haven for perverts to hide...and then emerge to ply their trade.

The fact that these perverts have risen up through the church's ranks is illustrated by the way they have historically chosen to turn their collective backs on people who complained and either backed or moved the priests responsible for these heiness acts upon children around the world.

i think R+ was admonishing me.

i was curious about the etymology of the word "faggot". it seemed incredibly hateful (more so than it already is) if the means used to execute homosexuals was also the derogatory term.

as it turns out this is not the case.

while i fully support equality and freedom from persecution for all people, i find the term "gay" a poor choice. in fact most gay people i know prefer the term "queer".

what is truly offensive is that any people were burned alive and then hanged for their sexual preference in accordance with church and state law.

if my ponderance is upsetting anyone i shall stop. i mean no offense to the queer community whose struggles against hysterical predjudice i fully support.

No 5r...no admonishment. The faggot info is sad, sickeningly sad. But 'society' has been burning and hanging people for a long long time for all manner of non reasons. I think you're right. Gay has run its course and Queer has taken over in the homosexual community. It's a media thing, in terms of usage, now.

The pervert reference re: the church is not about homosexuals...it's about perverts who come in all shapes, sizes, colours, and sexual orientation.
