Well, today promises to be very full. Connie is leaving this morning. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] We will miss her, and I hope to keep in contact with her. She stops by for a final breakfast with Marilyn, then reluctantly goes to catch her transportation to MoBay and the long flight to St. Louis. This is my third week here, and as I expected, my money is running out. (Remember the boat motor incident?) I had called my daughter the night before, and she had promised to Western Union me some cash. I love my daughter. She always comes through for me.

We decide this would be a good day to go to Roaring River. I’ll have some money, the weather is beautiful, and why not? We go to the HiLo for the money, and head out around 10 A.M. It’s a nice trip through the countryside, turn at Sav, then off towards Shrewsbury. We stop off to have a couple of drinks and pick up some food. Just as we pull up, a van full of men is loading up preparing to leave. One of the men jumps out, and with a big grin on his face; grabs me and gives me a big hug! It’s Michael—AKA Babylon personified. Michael was a security guard at Legends in 2000. He had told me that his dream was to be a cop. Some dreams come true for some people, because Michael is now a police officer in Sav. He takes his job very seriously, as do all of these officers. Alberto, always the diplomat, buys bottles of water for all of them. You gotta have a friend in Babylon.

We get to Roaring River. I am glad to see that the Main Spring is now recovering from the drought that I witnessed last March. The pool there is still small, though. As we go up the hill, we are joined by 2 Rastas on mopeds. They are shills trying to get us to go to the cave tour. $10 PER PERSON; I DON’T THINK SO!!! Alberto, of course knows one of them, and explains that we are going to visit Rasta Benjie at the top of the hill, up the track. They explain that he is not home, but “volunteer” to accompany us. (Read watch us) As we drive up the bumpy, unpaved road, we pass the Blue Hole. Through a hole in the fence we see that it also has recovered from the drought and is there in all it’s turquoise glory. One day I will spring for the $8 per person and go in there, but not today. I am a woman on a mission.

We go over a small spring emanating from the mountain, around the creek it gives birth to. Finally we reach Rasta Benjie’s home. We give the 2 shills $100JA each to get them to let us enjoy the property and ensure them that we have honorable intentions. They let us onto the property, and we follow the path down into the grotto we’ve been seeking. It’s been raining almost every day, and the water is rushing through. Rasta Benjie or someone has blocked off a spring with large rocks, coating their tops with concrete. It forms a pool about 20 feet around and 3 feet deep. The water is cold, but not too cold to adjust to. The first one in is Alberto; he just jumps in. I’ve been here before, so I follow him. Marilyn gingerly steps in, gasps, and plunges under. Tommy stands there in his underwear watching. Off comes Alberto’s shorts; off comes my bathing suit. Marilyn is already naked, somehow. That girl will shed her clothes at the drop of a hat! I wonder if she’s been raised in a nudist colony. Tommy just stands there in his underwear, so we ignore him and romp in the cool water. Marilyn climbs onto a rock and begins to pose. It is too beautiful to ignore, so I grab her camera and take what can only be described as “art” pictures. I instruct her how to pose—turn this way, turn that way, put that leg there, that arm there. At one point, Marilyn tells me, “Dianne, look behind you; get a picture of that!” I turn and see that Tommy has finally joined us, sans clothes. All I can say is that the “anaconda” is in full effect! I snap several pictures, but don’t catch his face; after all Tommy is a married man! We don’t want to cause problems, but this is too good to miss!

Marilyn settles down for a nap, like a cat on a window sill in the sun. Alberto and I, innocent as two babes, enjoy the scenery from our rock. I doze off, then become aware that Alberto has deserted me. I pout, not looking up. Finally curiousity takes over, and I look up just as I see Marilyn stepping out of the water. As her back turns to me, I see that she has 2 large lacerations across the base of her spine! It looks like Mass Charlie has whupped one of his sassy slave gals. Come to find out, while I was pouting, Marilyn was drowning. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img] She got caught in the current where the stream exits the pool, and Alberto had to jump in to save her! He is limping, because of the rocks on the bottom; and his side is gouged. What drama! Tommy pours raw rum on Marilyn’s wounds, to keep them from getting infected. All of us are amazed that she never flinches, not one bit. She says that this is nothing compared to chemo. Marilyn is tough as nails people, let me tell you.

Now we decide it’s time to go. Alberto is limping, Marilyn’s butt is very sore; and we have all received a real scare. We decide to stay in this night. No one is in a mood to party.

Brownie, never been to RR, but YS usually has some people there, and therefore I don't think the "sans clothes" could pass there

YS is past Black River so it appears that it would be more distant. I like it though. Not too many people, and very scenic. And one of the pools have a "Tarzan" style rope over it which is great for swinging and plunging into the refreshingly cool pool.

Queen.... I have finally gotten to reading Greenwichtown ( I know I'm a little behind others at the Book forum ) either way, the book has been put down, and Your and Marilyn's reports are my sole literary entertainment now! A far better read than any book. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] It reads like good fiction, yet it's a documentary!! Keep it up.

This is a wonderful report. I miss Negril. I would LOVE to get in on the girlfriends tour in March. You all are the best. I love the way everyone here is so accepting of each other and not judgemental of the choices made. I love the spirit of this board and am glad to be a new member.
