SVT: What works for me is to find a man who is bearable! I put up with one that I am in no way attracted to and use him as a shield agains all others. Trust me it works, there is some unwritten code of honor where no one will approach you if it appears you are already with someone.

Marilyn: You have brought tears to my eyes! I think all women dream of giving and receiving the love that is apparently shared between Alberto and THE Queen!

Queen B: I am so sad to see your report come to an end! I have been glued to the computer these past weeks flipping between you and Marilyn. As all good things must do, I guess it time to come to an end! Or maybe not, how about adding more. Maybe a slight plot twist where while you were in the JUTA, you couldn't take the waiting anymore so you bolted for the door and caught the first driver back to Negril, called Alberto and told him you weren't going back to NJ so soon and then...

QueenB, as with Marilyn's report I waited till the very end, I read, then I go over it again just to make sure that I don't miss anything. It was well worth the wait. When I read the last entry, You had me laughing and crying at the same time. All I can say is that you are a very brave, strong woman.

oh queen i'm so sorry...i know this has got to be difficult

i cried this last time in leaving jamaica and i was with my man...coming back with me to the states...couldn't even begin to imagine staying for a month THEN saying "later"(not goodbye) to my love.....but you just focus on the next trip and the next time you can be with the two loves of your live...alberto and jamaica

I'VE LOVED YOUR TRIP REPORT....THANK God i haven't gotten fired....because i have stayed glued to this report waiting for the next installments

This is wonderful! Your trip made me cry and I have my Jamaican sweetie right here with me. I am only 1 to 2 hours from the beaches in NJ, too. I concur when you wrote in the beginning:

"Away from the islands/cays, in the depths, the ocean is still a blue that I never experienced growing up in New Jersey; the ocean there is greenish and dense, not light and airy like here. BTW, after seeing the Caribbean for the first time in 1992, I have NEVER gone to the beach in New Jersey.
Then, lost in a mist of afternoon cloud, I finally see ‘my’ island. For some reason, the pilot is approaching the airport from over the island, not from the sea; but he turns and in a large sweep and lands. I’M IN JAMAICA!!!"

The arrival is always wonderful and the departing bittersweet. The trip report is awesome. I had to leave it midway to do something and wondered the entire time how things were going to end!

I am glad you and Marilyn had a great time! I spent most of my time in MoBay; perhaps we can meet over there sometime!

Great report, queenb! But I can't believe you spent a month there, and didn't go to Lost Beach! Is Sienna's bar in Little London? If so, you were only a few goats away!

Hey Queen B I used to live at Dennis's yard too, if that verandah could talk it could tell some stories ... my first date with Clever T was on the that same verandah lol!

STV one that works for me is to ask them first .. buy mi a beer now! do yuh have craven a fi mi .... definitley stops some in their tracks! Its also a good one to quell harrassment, as they start to come with the lines I always ask them to buy me a beer .. some do (then you have to deal with the consequences, but that is rare lol) some say yes & go to get it & never seen again! some take it as time to leave ... works for me nearly everytime ! Always be broke, not that you are believed and don't give them reason to think you have lots of cash .. many of the gigs watch you for a long time before they approach you ... remember it is how they making their living and they are very skilled at all the moves ....
