Nice to see you again Rose. You have been here from the onset, the board that is?
Cant help but notice you ignoring inclusion of Steer Town, your other home village.
But as usual you never exclude Mammee Bay.
There are two Mammee Bays, right?
One is by Sandals Dunns River and the other is nearer on the Ochi side.
I see that you have ventured to stay in Runaway Bay.
Remember I was tellng you about a house on the rocks in Discovery Bay?
Havent been there in over a year.
But have been to Negril, Whistling Bird and Johnny Cakes place just outside of, in May.
When in Portland, try Winnifred`s Beach in Fairy Hill, 10 minutes east of Pt. Antonio.

Hello Q! Good to hear from you..it's been so long. Yes, I believe I've been here from near the start. I still read the boards, but don't post much anymore. You know what? I thought about you when I was in Discovery Bay wondering where exactly that house is. Nice area over there.

Steer Town..didn't mean to exclude it as it's still a favorite place and home to my 'family' in Jamaica. We did spend a little time up in our friend's yard and around the shop watching the guys playing dominoes. As I reflect, I do wish we had spent more time up there this trip..one of those places I miss if I don't get a full 'fix'.

Yes, there are two Mammee Bays..actually, maybe three. We most often stay in the estate(to the left of Sandals facing the sea). One time we stayed at Rose Garden Hotel on the other side. Nice enough, but I didn't care for the beach as much over there..felt like a strong undertow in spots. From that side though, if you walk toward the right a ways down the beach you can get to one of the James Bond beaches(where Dr. No was filmed). The place we go is a perfect place to spend some quiet time.

The third part of Mammee Bay is across the main just below Steer Town. It's more of a residential area rather than tourist...called Upper Mammee Bay I believe.

Libby, Let me set the record straight by saying I remain loyal to St. Ann..it's home after all and is the very special "Garden Parish". BUT, if I ever get banished from St. Ann...then, St. Mary it

Yes, Libby, that's so true. Things are never easy, but this time it was evident that times are especially difficult. I always find it humbling. Things are really rough for so many people I know and yet they can find their smiles and the pleasures in each day and as always be kind and hospitable.
