Magic...What made me move? Well it kind of happened by accident...My father had passed away after a battle with cancer. I learned from that experience that life is too short and if you want to do something, and your able...do it today, cause tomorrow isnt gauranteed. What I wanted to do was take three months off and travel...so decided to travel the islands of the Carribbean. I had been to JA so was going to start there. I had learned of a island hopping ticket available from BWIA but when I got to JA found out that JA was the only island not part of the package so my itinerary was shot and I was "stuck" in JA for three months....not really stuck, but decided to stay there until I got tired of it, then move on to another island...well I never got tired of it and at the end of my three months I didnt want to leave. But I did. and I had been home for a month when I got an offer to come back down and help a friend take care of his 4 year old nephew that he had rather unexpectedly gotten custody of. So off i went and even though that situation didnt work out or last too long...I stayed.

Ochi that's so beautiful. Decided to stay in Jamaica til you get tired and never did get tired of it!! That's what I'm talking about. I wish I could do three months at a time instead of 3 days at a time! Maybe one day. But then again, like yourself I might end up staying! Which wouldn't be so bad. Wonderful Ochi.. I read the beginning of your report but forgot to come back and finish...I agree with Magic.. you take some wonderful photos...reports without them just dont do it anymore..

that boat incident was chilling...Jah works in mysterious ways... and the pain of separation when it was time to leave was heart warming.. I could feel the tightening in the throat... have experienced it a few times myself..

And I second a vote that Reggae beach looks great for a ja.com bashment as well..

Sorry I missed you by just one day .. maybe I'll get to meet you on the next round..

What a story! You had me laughing, smiling, shocked, relieved, and then needing a kleenex, all in the same 5 minutes. It took some talent to do that!

Kyle is so very beautiful, and I cannot even imagine the feeling of relief you must have had when he was not on that boat...

Oh, and the pictures are absolutly beautiful too! Thanks so much for alla dat....

Alright Magic...first let me post a small disclaimer...My camera is CRAP! The best pics were the ones from my digital...but here are a few from my rolls...of the 4 rolls...there was really nothing worth even posting...I am VERY dissappointed....

This is in Negril standing on the patio of a place who's named has slipped me...looking over at EazyRock Cyber Cafe, that beach is right across the road from Mi Yard.

Back in Ochi, this is from the Ocho Rios public beach looking out at Cool Runnings (the boat that HitMi and I went out on)


The dolphins at Dolphin cove and the poor tourists (suckers) that spent big bucks to have an "encounter" with the dolphins

OK you got me. Girl what can I say? What a beautiful child,and to see him crying and hurt fo his daddy <sigh>. All of us are tripping because we all know the pain of leaving Jamaica. Rips your heart out every time, if you in fact "get it". Girl I don't know if I can stand for you to go back.

Marilyn hush, sure we want her to go back tomorrow. In fact there's 6am flight she can take Tuesday to LAX and connect to the Air Jamaica's new second flight that will get her to MoBay by 4pm. Then She'll be in Ochi by 6pm tomorrow. SO we should have the first installment of the trip report by 8pm Island time, which is 7pm, Marilyn, for us here in the bush.

If you go back in July do you think you will spend more time in Negril? (not sure if you said that up there [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img] ) I was on the other end of that beach, looking back towards the love boat when I took some of my shots...too funny.

Hey Hitmi...just saw your addition to this post...No, dont see myself spending any time in Negril next trip, which hopefully will be July. It might be nice to head out for aa day or two like this time. I mean, Negril is nice, and I was glad to get to see it again....it had been years...but Ochi is more my style...its home.
