MissS loves to change her hair. Of all the trips we have been together, I can't remember one where she wasn't in the beauty salon.
Even in Falmouth where the salon was the size of a bathroom,she went back 2 times that trip.
I loved it because the fisherman were just north of the salon and I had something interesting to do when she was occupied.

I CAN, believe its closed,one night, late they were doing allot of Smoking in the club. I'd say at lest 25 people were puffing away.
That was the night I saw the police at Close Encounter,I wonder If they went back that night and shut them down.

LIZ:BEACH ID. Looks like the beach just up around the point from Parottee on way to Black River from TB River. Good for strolling but LOTS no-see-ums, skeeters and more than a few crocs...

You know, crocs would have never occurred to me at all, I thought they kinda stayed in the river. They'll do beach too?

Cold-blooded creatures, they come up on shore to bask in sun and get warm. I was spearfishing from a canoe off Parrotee last May, climbed into the boat and noticed a nice 9 footer on the other side... There's a big saltwater marsh behind this area that's source of skeeter population as well. Up around the point, there'll be fewer problems tho it's a little 'rough' to say the least, local fishers territory and a strange not exactly welcoming vibe. There are some places for sale in area, including some wattle & dab fishers' huts up around the point...
I'd fear the no-see-ums tho long before the crocs.

tiv, were you IDing my photo or the one before it?

(just checking as I do intend to visit the one in my photo sometime and what to look for would be useful, esp if it's sandfleas and crocodiles!)

George, Ambrosa closed due to high rent on the beach road ($3000US per month) - not enough turnover from entrance fees, drinks, ladies to cover the rent and make a living for the club proprietors.

The club is still there...new managers, new dreams(?), new name - "Club Amanda".

When the police walk into an establishment and turn a blind eye to the smoke, and instead belly up to the bar and do their share of flirting, you know they're not serious about the ongoing infractions (and morst assuredly make "a little something" to leave things as such.)

You could stay overnight at the Parrotee Beach hotel, site of the former Zimbabwe bar, and explore by foot. There's a North Carolina style screen porch/peaked tin roof house as well down the beach that might be for rent, owned by a shrink from Cleveland. There used to be a German post-industrial hippie style couple living in a small cooch on a sweet piece of land out on the point/was for sale,cheap/from whence you'd explore by seakayak probably best. If you strong
kayaker, you could use go down coast from Unforgettable in Fort Charles on a double kayak or canoe.Or have our boatman Joseph take you.

I have changed my trip. I will arrive November 28 at 7am. This time, The Whistling Bird,and ??? I want 2 nights somewhere to break-up the stay. Could be that cottage or something else on the cliffs;8nights.......

I'm sending Solomon some $$$ for the Bird, I will call him in a few days.
