The Beach in MoBay has never been something I wanted. I go to Negril,Treasure Beach or the Falmouth area. I don't want to see the air plane till I must get on it.

Not yet, but that's next Thursday, I needed to change my mind about control. Needed to get an understanding like a Jamaican and that's tough for me. For now we're ,Err and Juston in the second place, we're going to take it one day at a time.... AA you know GeoAA.

I never got a wristband at El Greco.

It's quiet, away from it all, but as Geo says, just a short elevator ride to the strip and Doctor's Cave, they throw in passes to the beach with the room too.

I stayed in a 1BR suite but I htink they have them with 2BRs also. Full kitchen, living room, AC, etc.

anyway - Hi Geo and everyone, let's get to it now

El Greco ok for visitors. they just have to check in at the desk and present their id. we have visitors, dinner parties, etc at El Greco. Been staying there off and on since 1999.

Gloriana NOT ok for visitors but very cheap. It could be that you may be able to have a visitor but NO sleepovers unless the person is pre-registerd or you will be charged an additional $20 per nite. I do not believe they have any suites, so no privacy. BUT the rooms are only $40 for a double and 35 for a single. Yikes! I just love that. also have a 55 room that has one single bed, one king, fridge and a large balcony. noisy tho. cuz those rooms all face the street. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] I imagine Gloriana will be filed with crazy wild people anyway for Sumfest. gotta get some earplugs for sure

El Greco is the best for privacy. Only 2 bedrooms tho. upstairs and down, 3 bathrooms altho the one downstairs is only toilet and sink. Not sure if two of you could share one bedroom. it is set up like a 2 story, 2bedrm condo. very very comfortable like home.

Hotfoot, you will have to hook up with me at Sumfest cuz I sleep all day and dancehall all nite. I would be the one to hook you up with rides, especially since I will have a car lol I will be at either Gloriana or EL Greco if we can get someone to share the 2 bedroom cuz I hate to pay too much for a room (my husband and I will be travelling together plus our fren Indian will be staying with his grandma in Iron Shore lol)

The Brewery is best on Fri and ok Sat nite, Margaritaville happens every nite but local nite is Sat nite. THe after hours closed down but maybe they will open another one by July. NOW that is what we must pray for. Also they usually have parties at Dead End Beach if someone brings some sounds, now that is really fun too. I can just imagine Aquasol beach on Sunday cuz it is fun without Sumfest. woooooooo hoooooooooooo - dancehall music on the beach all day long. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

Moods is no longer Moods but Xstatic, the old Paradise if any of you remember. SInce Platinum aka Glitter closed cuz Jack Tar got sold - - - many local street people dance at Xtatic. That is where I saw Geo's gyal when we went down in January [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] She is one of the best dancers around for sure

My husband JA from MObay and we know all the street people in Mobay, and ALL the taxi drivers. I have been travelling back and forth (7-8 times per year since 1999) to MObay and know it very well plus many of the surrounding areas. I can give you many drivers names and numbers.

also if you want the best rate at Mobay club, A-block is the best place in that hotel, call Stephany, my mom-in-law, she the housekeeper in A Block, and she will try to negotiate for you. she is off SUnday but is there every M-Sat from 11am-4pm. They can give you her cell phone number at the desk or I can email it to you as well.

This will be my first Sumfest so I am too excited. Plus Indian and I have not been in Mobay together since 1999 so we are gonna party TOO hard.

I have not stayed at all those hotels you mention but they all look ok to me. Coral Cliff is adjacent to the casino. The casino is very nice and the lobby area of the hotel looks fine and the security and workers are all very professional. Do not know how the rooms are tho. I do not like Wexford and I have heard that the hotel at the Pork Pit has NO phone and only local TV. NO good for Mr. -- - - he has to have BET even during Sumfest [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

PS we never wear our wristbands but always have them in our pocket or purse, etc. for coming in and out cuz security has to be very tight [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

The last time I visited it was Pier One on Friday night - and was it Dead End Beach on Thursdays? Oh, that was wicked, the sets on the street and all. Trouble...

Tho' is it better to just stay around Doctors Cave for Sumfest? El Greco does look/sound nice. Plus, we might have a third girlfriends staying for just the weekend, might help with the price.

I'm waiting to see what airfare will be, because if I can get a rate under 600. then I'll be at Sumfest as well.

I shouldn't even say wait. Knowing me I'll just start saving once I return from Negril in May and wait for another sale to hit so I can book a ticket. I may not be there for the whole session but I definitely want to be there for Dancehall night [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] , so maybe a Wed-Sun trip for me.

wed---sun? Hmm. I don't think anything but a rt. Air Ja. LAX will work. You face the same type of connection that I do.
This flight was way to much for Air Ja and the over and back to LAX was $135. Could have been cheaper but the times did not work.
I might go If the planets are all aliened ,we'll see what happens next week.

If you can email me the rate that you pulled up (if the page is still open highlight the whole thing and paste it to email). I found some around 700. but I'm cool, there is no way I'm spending that much so soon. Did you search straight from Air JA's site or travelocity/orbitz/expedia?
