Re: Mayfield Jungle Falls
I thought Mayfield was great! The ride to get there is beautiful and green. The falls themselves are shallow and warm and easy to climb. I can't swim and I don't like to get wet above my waist, but I was able to climb without a problem. If you do want to submerge yourself there were several pools with rocks to jump from and falls to stand beneath. When you're done they bring you back thru the jungle where you get to see some interesting natural wonders. It's a very different experience than Dunns River. You'll love it!

Re: Mayfield Jungle Falls
Jastar...we went to Mayfield and loved it. Allow plenty of time so you can hang out there after you do the falls. It's a nice change from a day on the beach...very natural, green and earthy.
Here's my trip report...if you skip to about page 2...we eventually get to Mayfield...there's photos for your viewing pleasure.
Enjoy. If you've got questions or I can recommend a guide...feel free to e-me.

Re: Mayfield Jungle Falls
I've been to Mayfield several times. The falls are really lovely and if you are not inclined to climb up them you can just stroll along the side. Last time I was there, I didn't want to climb them so I just hung out in the little bar there and chatted with some of the other guides while my friend hiked the falls. The valley there is just beautiful and I would like to spend a whole day just lounging there. Very nice vibe. Big up Sala....who took us there the last time.

Re: Mayfield Jungle Falls
I hadn't been to Mayfield for awhile, and was lucky enough to go there again last week. It is still as pretty as I remembered. And I still couldn't swim through the uderwater tunnel.
Entrance fee is $10. Lunch is optional - an additional $10 (rice & peas, fried chicken, or fresh water fish) although by Jamaican lunch standards, that's a bit pricey. It is easy to catch something on the way back to Negril.
Wear water shoes or tennis shoes. Guests CAN go barefoot, but are highly encouraged to have something on their feet. Tennis shoes can be rented there for $150J.
Guides work for tips, they earn their money - $500J per person is well appreciated.
