Hi everyone, We have been back now for a week and now that I am over the initial shock of returning home as I promised I will post a trip report.
I know nobody really cares but let me state this anyways, I am by no means a writer, I am terrible with punctuation and I am not the best speller so with that out of the way here goes.
Day 1 Saturday November 1st
I have been awake on and off now since 2 a.m. and it is finally 4:30 a.m. and it is time to get up. I bounce out of bed like a child would on Christmas morning! My husband is still lying in bed half awake listening to me chant “We’re going to Jamaica, We’re going to Jamaica la la la la laaa la. I turn around and look at him, just lying there and think how could he? How can you just lay there when this is “THE DAY”?!? So I just jumped up onto that bed and I did my “We’re Going To Jamaica” dance and chant until he got up. He was mumbling something to sorts of “I just need a shower and a cup of coffee” Hmmm I can’t understand him, I am so juiced up cause I’m gonna be in JA in just a very short time, heck who needs coffee I’ve got pure JA adrenaline running through my veins!!
Everyone meets up at the airport all 9 of us are accounted for and we are all rarin to go! Our flight was great we flew Air Jamaica, God I Love That Airline!! We many complimentary mimosas(sp?) and we were feeling pretty irie by the time we landed at 11:30.
As we exited the plane we all said our thank you’s and good job to the pilot and crew and then we stepped out into that wonderful Jamaican warmth that we had been looking forward to for so long. The warm sun and the wonderful smell of Jamaica, we were finally here.
We made it through all the and had no problems with having to declare anything : ) Next we needed to find Soloman and as soon as the group made their way outside they spotted a man with a sign with my name on it. Thinking this was our ride everyone proceeded to pack all the luggage into the van. I was the last one out and when I came outside I saw Soloman holding a sign with my name on it so I went over and introduced myself and said hello. Then we discovered the mix up. Moondance had sent an extra driver for us just in case our other ride didn’t show up. That was nice of them but they obviously did’nt know Soloman and Talk Of The Town Tours and how reliable they are.
We proceeded to unpack the 1st van and explained to the other driver the mix up. He was very nice about it and soon Solomans van was all loaded up and ready to go. We all loaded into the 2nd van that Soloman brought, 9 people and luggage takes up a lot of room and we sure were glad that Soloman planned ahead for this and kept us comfortable.
Sienna was unable to meet us at the airport because she was being a sweetheart and helping out a friend who needed help covering hours at work. Soloman says she will meet up with us later, probably tomorrow.
We all had a very relaxing ride to Negril, Soloman made sure we drove at a nice cruising speed No white knuckles for me this time
Everything looks and smells so beautiful, everyone is oohing and aahing and taking lots of pictures. We are also enjoying the nice cold red stripe that we have on ice. I am thinking to myself god I hope we don’t scare Soloman away, we were getting pretty loud, we were pumped up with adrenaline and alcohol…ooooh what a scary combo that can be
Soloman doesn’t seem to be minding us at all, thank goodness.
We arrive at Moondance and unload ourselves and our luggage. We tell Soloman we will see him in a day or two and figure out our tours and times and we say goodbye.
The Moondance villa staff is there waiting for us as we walked through the doors of Azure Sky, the 4bdrm villa. It was the most wonderful feeling. We had become friends with everyone last year and we wanted to make sure we had the same crew so we specifically requested them and it was like seeing old friends when we came in. Everyone was hugging and shaking hands, it was such a nice feeling…..It felt like we were home.
