Before I start, I want to give you all a little background about me. This is my fifth trip to Jamaica this year. I met my boyfriend on my third trip in August, so we've only been together a short time. (I've actually only recently began calling and considering him my boyfriend) I've seen him one time very briefly since then when I went down for a weekend, but this is our first time to spend an extended time together. This is my first trip report as I've always been a little overwhelmed to write one before, but I'm going to give it my best shot this time. I hope you all enjoy. I wake up very excited at 4 am. It takes me a few minutes to realize that I'm actually up too early, I could have slept another half an hour. Oh well, I'm just happy that my throat and body are feeling better and I'm heading to JAMAICA!!! I had thought for a while I was going to have to cancel my trip because I was so sick, so I'm extra happy that I'm getting to go. I use the extra time to take a nice shower, dry my hair and check my e-mail one last time before I go. I'm ready to go right on time and leave my house at precisely 5:00. My flight doesn't leave until 9:00, but the airport is at least an hour and 15 minutes away and I always like to leave extra time just in case there is traffic, especially with the holiday. I make it to the airport in about an hour and a half with no real problems. I get a nice surprise when the long term parking is all full and they let me park in the closer lot for the long term price. I park and get to the terminal with no problems. Just as I start to look around to see where I need to check in at someone from the airline comes up and asks me where I'm heading. I tell him "Montego Bay" with a great big smile and he tells me to follow him. He takes me down to a special line and I'm all checked in in no time at all. I breeze through security and it's now only 7:30, I still an hour an a half to kill. I walk around and buy a few books to read. I make myself eat some breakfast even though I'm not very hungry so I can take my antibiotics without getting a queasy stomach. I call my boyfriend quick and make sure he's still going to be picking me up at the airport. Then it's time to head down to my gate and wait to board. The plane is overbooked and they are looking for people to give up their seats and go on a later flight through Miami. Everyone just looks at them like their crazy. I don't think they got anyone to take their deal. We all finally get boarded and we're off to Jamaica!

The flight goes smoothly. I'm tired, but I never sleep on airplanes so I do my regular stuff. They show a movie, but it was nothing I was interested in. I read my book, listen to music and talk to my neighbors a little bit. They are all heading down for their dad's wedding. About 2/3rd's of the way down the flight attendant asks me if I would be willing to switch seats with this guy behind me. He is apparently very clasterphobic and was getting sick sitting by the window. I prefer aisle seats, but feel bad when I see his green face so I go ahead and switch. The flight attendent offers me free drinks, but I'm still not feeling great, so I decline. I'm happy to be sitting by the window though as we land and I get to see all the great sites. They de-plane from both the rear and the front, so I'm out in that great Jamaican sun in no time. It's a beautiful day and I'm so happy to be there. I head into the airport and hit the bathroom first. I've learned from prior trips it can be a very long wait for luggage and through customs especially when you have to pee. I head down to immigration and the singers are not there. I'm dissappointed because I wanted to give them a little something and this is my second trip in a row I've missed them. Oh well, I hope to catch them on my next trip. I breeze right through immigration and head down to get my luggage. I'm surprised how many people are down here, I've never see it so packed. To make matters worse everyone is lining up the first customs line making a big old traffic jam. My luggage comes quick and I dodge my way through the crowd over to the last line on the left. It goes quick and I'm outside in no time. I stop by the digicel counter and get a cell phone as I have decided this is a must from now on. I call my boyfriend to see where he is. He tells me that he will "soon reach", so I sit down and wait. Then I wait and wait and wait some more. I try to keep a look out for sistacaf as she was arriving not long after me, but I never see her. I'm starting to get cranky as I'm still not feeling all that great and I'm tired of people asking me do I need a ride! I make myself take a deep breath and remind myself that I'm in Jamaica, so no worries. My boyfriend soon shows up with his brother and friend Gary in tow and we're off to Negril in no time. I know Gary already, but this was my first time to meet his brother. He's very quiet and shy, so he doesn't talk much, but he seems very sweet. It's raining and the traffic through Montego Bay is a little slow. Once we get out of the city and the rain stops we are cruising right along. The boys are all talking and I'm just relax and take in all the beautiful sites.

We reach Rondel Village and we check in with no problems. Our room is wonderful and I'm so happy I chose to stay here. In two of my previous trips, I've been a little dissappointed with my hotel choice, so this is a very nice surprise. Not that they were bad, just not what I was expecting. I'm so glad that I finally got a place that I really like and feel comfortable in. They all leave so I can unpack and take a little nap. My boyfriend is going to bring them home and "soon be back". I know better, so I don't expect him back anytime real soon. I've learned that my idea of soon and his are very different [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] . I take my time unpacking and getting to know my room. I fool around with the A/C to see what's the best setting. I take a little walk around the property and out to the beach. I so happy to be here in Jamaica and staying here just makes it all the better. I'm tired and still a little sick, but I can't really sleep because I'm excited to see my boyfriend. I take a nice bath and that makes me feel better. He comes back in about an hour and a half with dinner for both of us which was a nice surprise. We are both starving, so we sit down outside and eat and just chat. I think we are both a little nervous at first, but that goes away very quickly. Our room is overlooking the pool, so we decide we are going to go for a swim and in the hot tub. We go and change into our bathing suits and head down. I go to jump in the hot tub and it is HOT! WOW, it's so hot you can barely get in it. I'm surprised because all the other hot tubs I've been in down here haven't been that hot. Then we go dip our feet into the pool and it feels so cold compared to the hot tub. He throws me into the water and has a good laugh. I try to throw him in, but I'm not successful. Next time I'll have to be more sneaky [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] . We have a good time just swimming around, but we dont' stay too long. We head back inside and we take turns taking showers. I'm really tired as it's almost midnight and I've been up since 4 am, so we get into bed. I'm soon falling asleep and he gives me lots of kisses and tells me how much he's missed me. We leave the A/C off and the windows open, so I fall asleep to all those great sounds of Jamaica with boyfriend beside me. It doesn't get any better than this.

The bright sun wakes me up early but I snuggle back into bed with my sweetie as I'm not ready to get up just yet. I can't believe that I'm here in Jamaica on Thanksgiving! He's awake too and he gives me some more little kisses on my forehead and tells me good morning. We stay in bed for a long time like that. We finally get up for real and just talk and hang out for a while. I've brought some dominoes so we get them out. I've never really played before, so he has to teach me. I brought a bigger set than we need, so he sorts through them and picks out the ones we need to play. He teaches me a few different games and I even win a few rounds. We decide we are getting hungry so we should shower and go find some breakfast. We head out and can't decide where to go to eat. I want to go to the grocery store as well, so we head to Hi-Lo first. There is a fridge in our room so I buy a lot of drinks and snacks to fill it up. We still can't decide where to eat when I remeber we can just eat at Rondel, so back to the hotel we go.. We bring the stuff up to our room and look at the menu. It's about 11 now, so I'm not sure if we can still order breakfast. I call and the chef tells me I can have breakfast "no problem". We decide to just order room service as we are being a little lazy [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] . I'm pleasantly surprised when the room service arrives about 40 mins later as I expected it to take longer. We're eating our breakfast/lunch when his friend Gary shows up for a visit. We share a little with him and then the boys decide they are going to play dominoes. They go out on the veranda and start playing. Now when we played earlier we played on the bed, so I didn't know you needed to slap them down so hard. I change into a bathing suit and head down to the pool. I sit in the sun, read my book and just relax. The boys are being loud with the dominoes, but having fun. Gary doesn't stay too long and leaves fairly soon. My boyfriend comes down to sit with me and we just hang out. He has to go to work at 2, so it's not long before he needs to leave. He gives me a kiss and tells me that he will see me later.
