For those of you who don't know what the Office of Nature is, it is hard to describe...maybe not.
It's a local group of Great people who have a second generation squat set-up on Bloody Bay.
They offer fresh seafood, cold beer, dominoes, sea shells and along with other people there, massages, crafts, hair braiding and just about anything else you could want..(grin).
The relaxed vibe of the place and the "No Problem"
welcome is something you'll have to discover for yourself.
They have been successful because they don't hassle people too much, and welcome you to join the local vibe the place has to offer.
They buy their fish and lobster from the fishermen and cook over a natural wood fire with fresh spices added for the most incredible food around. The prices are verying thing and some haggling has to be done for sure.
They have a small bar set-up and a sound system pounds out some Great tunes and locals and tourists alike enjoy the Very Safe vibe the place has. Hey you can even get married there..!!!(Plug for Isabelle)
View of the Main Cooking tent.
Here is a Shot of the Bar Area.
These photos where taken early in the day before the people arrive to start working and they were just setting up for a new day.
I met a New vendor on this visit by the craft side of the complex. His name was Vincent and he was just putting his wares out for the day.
He may have been there before, but I met him for the first time during this trip. He is very nice and was pleased to have me take his photo...he'd heard of the officeofnature.com site Frank had set up and wanted to be included on it as well.
If you'd like to visit Bloody Bay (and You should),just past the Riu is a path that leads to the beach and you can't miss this place.
Say Hello to Gritty, Beinge,Robert, Flex,Tete,Isabelle, Bloom (hair braiding and aloe Massage) and a whole cast of characters you'll Never forget.....tell them Rasta Stan sent you...please.
I did not get to spend a whole lot of time with them during this trip but I will in April...Jah willing.
During my visit the music was pumping the smoke from the fire was going and I enjoyed a chat with the local police who drop bye for a beer now and then...(they're cool...lots of smogging going on ... and no Hassle at all)
I'm going to jump ahead a bit because the most important part has got to be included here.
Ricardo:
He is a child that goes to the Torrington school in Sav-La-Mar that several of us boardies have been supporting for about a year now.
One of the visitors to the school spotted him and noticed all was not well with him....to make a Very Long story short.
He required some medical treatment and his family of course could not dream of coming up with the money for his care.We got the money together and sent him to a Doctor.
He said it was beyond his
Training and and MRI should be done to see what was causing his poor balance , pain and lack of sight.
Many people helped and Matt , who's started a site for the school will be posting a Hall of Fame list to these kind-hearted folks in the near future.
Here are some pics of him getting this MRI done in Kingston.
And another one
The results from the MRI were good and bad.
He has no tumor causing his problem and visit to a specialist has shown he suffers from something called NYSTAGMUS.
This is not curable, but with treatment he may see,
to some degree, and that is were we hope to have him doing in the next several months....he could use some prayers for sure.
The wife and I visited with his family and that’s a whole heart wrenching part I'll save for Part Four....soon come
The Shearer Family in Stathbogie.
Sorry for the length of this...I know I'm not a good writer...but I hope you are following this.
