Negril - ARTIST- Look at what I found.....

...a wonderful artist right in Negril. His name is Michael Stewart. I am posting this because I do know a few of you who like to buy art down in Jamaica from a Jamaican artist. There was a post going around a few months ago too (from what i remember). So, this is for you art lovers out there. He had so many pieces. I was so impressed with the detail. He has only been in Negril for a couple of months and is originally from Mandeville.
His shop is located at BEACHES SANDY BAY. just steps from the beach.

Yes hitmi.. we did a post with art pieces a few months ago.. ive been collecting caribbean art... maybe i will go down to see the work..
the artist i love elton Allen.. I am hoping he is around. i loved his work

he's good .... he's been in Negril for quite few YEARs!! .... this summer he painted a wonderful small piece for my mom, per her/my specifications .... it was nice to be able to chat with the artist and watch the creation unfold ...

we opted for a 'small' piece (10x12) ---- the big ones were too big

frequently, you can find him 'working' in the old-IrieVibes area (in back).

ok, maybe he has only been at Beaches for a couple months [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]
I do remember him saying he was down the beach for a while before but, I didn't remember where. There are a few resorts that have purchased his work as well.

Beautiful pictures! Just one question though...how would you go about getting one back home? Would you have to wrap it and check it at the airport or would they allow you to bring it on board? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

Yes, he will roll it, put it in a tube and you can take it on the plane with you. Then you get it a nice frame when you get home [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
