The days leading up to your trip in Jamaica crawl by like a turtle. The days OF your trip to Jamaica fly by like a hummingbird.

Eventually there comes the dawn of your last full day. How much can you pack into it? How much can you buy to take home ? Will you be able to stand it at all.

Baby girl stayed out late having a wonderful time. She is intent in the wee hours of this morning to pack. I don't want her to. If she packs, I will have to, and if I pack, it means I am going. I am NOT ready to leave Jamaica. She is rolling clothes with a fury and chattering. I am looking away because it is too painful. Suddenly she is quiet. I look over to her bed and she has fallen asleep in hre suitcase in mid fold. I leave her there. The poor thing cannot hang with her Aunti Marilyn.

Later when she awakes we all go to breakfast with Curry this morning.






Commercial endoresement. He always has Jamaican breakfast as well.

Classy and SHirley have missed breakfast, so we are on a mission to find food for them. It is Sunday and most places are closed, but we find some good food at Tradewinds.

I saw the cutest idea there I would like to pass along to you. They used the colorful wraps that ladies buy to wear on the beach as table cloths and they really looked lovely.

I have a sudden last minute urge to shop and end up with Blue Mountain coffee,and perfume for a friend back home.

Walking back down the street we are a somber little bunch. I have now gotten myself a Red Stripe and today I am a weepy drunk.

The girls are being hassled by every CD sales person on the street, but actually, they buy some, my thoughts are that they are trying to take Jamaica home with them the best way they can.

Right in front of Sandcastles I see a nice looking well-groomed man, just standing there. I walk over to him and get so close to him face to face that our noses are about touching,

"I'm depressed", I say.

"You are"

<whining> "yes"

"Well I can do somthin' bout that"

" YOu can?" (I'm encouraged).

Come with me.

He ushers us across the street to a beautiful IMMACULATE vehicle. " I will take you girls here, here, here, and here, for ___ US total.

I am excited because it is a chance for me to show Classy some of the coutnryside, and also about three of the things he mentions I have never done.

It's a deal.

We jump in.

Ochie Heart and Marilyn reading your report made me wish I had hung with you guys more. After you busted my aunt and I out of Jamaican Grande we had a great time. The dancing at Marquirita ville Saturday night was on, Sista Caf, Ochie Heart, we had a ball. I left at about 3:30 am and Sista Caf was still dancing ( she obviously was running off of batteries) Again Marilyn you were so nice, beautiful and fun!!

The guy who gave us a ride back to Jamaica Grande that evening we left your condo, spoke so highly of you, he said you were a part of Jamaica. I told him you definitely were !!!!

His name is Marshall, and he is my chocolate doll type. I never will figure out why so many people I photograph are way more handsome than their pictures, but here he is.


Now I have been through fern gulley a many a time, but I never had the opportunity to stop and get out and take pictures.



from there we head to the little town of COlgate where you cna get spectacular views of the country and wonderful crafts (cheap).

I bought a painting to add to my Carribbean wall. BIG mistake, I only bought one.
We also had drinks at a charming bar where I met the nicest lady I have met in Jamaica to date.

The lovely bartender. There is a famous Jamaican print in which the subject has her hair fixed just like this.

From there we head up a different road. Marshall stops us at this wall that is covered with plants and tells us there is something truly spectacular there and that he has a prize for the person who finds it. So there we are all just scouring this wall for the "thing", and we can't find it. So he says...."Ok make it is to the right then", and we all look to the right and this is what we see.






Do I even need to tell you how this took my breath away?????My Ochii, like I had never seen her before. Lord I hope Jamaica doesn't change too much in the name of "progress."

As for Marshall, he next has to go to the car for the first aid kit. Shirley has hurt her foot somehow. I tell you he had the neatest best organized and well equipped first aid kit I ever saw. I think he was prepared to do surgery.

Yep I'm thinking that Lady Z is thinking, these are the most pitiful women.

From there we went to the entrance of Shaw Park, but it wasn't worth 10.00 to go in to us.
