It is amazing that you took to Anne of Green Gables about a little Canuck from PEI. Did you ever read any Nancy Drew?

When you wrote about Ochi I remembered one of the lovely things to see was Shaw Park = it has been 23 years since I went there but it was worth seeing even if $10 what is that just a few drinks?

I'm back!! M what a trip report ...and great photo's, you look like you all had a blast.
We want to Thank you and Sassy Ras so much for getting George's skates over for him, (Thanks to JAstargirl for them)...he may be a man in some areas but still a kid at heart!!
I didn't know about his 'heart to heart' so I wont say anything to him...but I'm going to look for those notes Thank you for your kind words, were very proud of him and hope he turns out to be a good man.

Thank you Marilyn..I know wherever Ochee goes I am there too..she's my best friend and whatever happened in K4 I was glad to be there in spirit...I worried about her the entire time (I know crazy huh?)

I love the picture of you and Miss Inez..that look she is giving you reminds me of my beloved mother-in-law who passed away from breast cancer [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] that picture says 10,000 words that never needed to be spoken...

Marilyn I think you maintain a good balance in life. You are living up to what it means to be a loveable, compassionate, charitable, and considerate person.

Your posts are like good medicine, fixing one ill or the other (ie nostalgia) or simply providing an overall boost by reminding us all that we share a common toil in the daily challenges of life's risk and rewards.

Hi Marilyn, you know me I tend to stay in the background and only come out every now and then. I have really enjoyed your trip report and hate to see it end. Whoever made the comment to you about self-serving I hope you just brushed them off your shoulders.

It broke my heart to read about the young man commiting suicide. I come from a long line of teachers and know your commitment to children. I had a grandmother and 2 great aunts who taught in a one room school in the country of Tennessee and the traditions has been past down generation to generation. So I applaud you for your committment to our children. Keep you head up.

Great report to go along with a fabulous trip!

I was so sad to read about Curley and I can only imagine how you felt when you got the news. Thank you for sharing all of your experiences and emotions with all of us here. I know some people don't appreciate it, but reading a trip report by you is like being there right beside you while traveling.

I am sooo sorry to hear about Curly. What a terrible tragedy. One of my 13 yr old sons classmates just commited suicide over the weekend and it is very hard.
I am so glad you do the right thing when it comes to your students. So many people do not.
Please give his mother my sympathies.
