I have been waiting to exhale for 2 long years...here goes...
Day 1 - We arrive at the airport at 5:00 AM on March 5, 2004 for our flight at 7:00 AM. There is a small line waiting on the Air Jamaica counter to open. We have 8 bags in tow...a child and an infant. Baby Jaden decides that he doesn't want to wait in line any longer, and takes off running full speed down the airport corridor. I drop everthing and run after him.
When AJ opens, some guy, totally oblivious to this line now snaking along three rows, jumps to the first available representative...with alllllllll his luggage. He is ready to check in...but get this...his plane doesn't leave until 8:30 AM! Why is he even here?? The 7:00 AM line starts a low growl until the AJ representative catches on...and sends him packing to the back of the line. kikikiki
We board the plane with no problems. However, Jaden is intent on pulling some lady's hair in front of us. I try to take his mind off of it...apologize over and over again...but he is on a mission. He is pulling and singing..."Stop ie...stop ie...stop ie." We almost have to tie him down to get him to stop.
Now my husband is a quiet spirit...it is VERRRYY rare for him to show outward emotions about anything
I have often thought that he has been very calm for a man that has not been home in two years. I am the complete opposite because I'm bursting at the seams from excitement. However, as soon as the pilot announces "ray ray...passing southern tip of Cuba....ray ray ray"...my husband's face lights up...he has the biggest smile on his face....finally some excitement!
I don't get to see the approaching coastline because I'm on the left side of the plane. As we are taxing down the runway...dread hits me in my stomach. BAM! No stairway into the Jamaican sun. We attach to the sun stealing artifical vein. ugggh! No dancers...no lines...as a matter of fact...we are the first to arrive. After we clear Customs...we are called to the information desk. They call for Junior two times with no success. The rep calls Junior's cell phone...then informs us that his van has broken down...and he had no way to contact me. I think he was somewhere flirting with a woman :kissteet: We grap a JUTA and we are on the way.
