Thanks PLJ...this was by far the best part of my trip. I didn't care who was watching...who didn't approve of the public display of affection...I was with the man that I love with all my heart. :love: :love:

OK this is beyond funny. I got TWO long distance phone calls yesterday asking me why this trip report is taking so long. I think people are taking this mummmmie stuff seriously, as though I have some special influence....so dear, could you wrap this one up???

I do have a life and a JOB!!! I told the Retirement Party story again at the Atl Bashment...had to throw water on myself because I fainted from too much laughing. I was a wet soggy mess in those pictures....more report soon come.

I wake up rather late this morning and head to the girl’s unit. When I arrive Marilyn and Lady Z have already gone for breakfast. Classy is waiting on me and Sassy. We are sad because today is the last full day….and because Sistacaf has left for Negril and her honey. We are happy for her…but we miss her terribly. Sassy never arrives this morning…

Classy and I were moving at a snail’s pace…I guess to delay the inevitable. We sit around talking for awhile…then we head down the hill to meet the other ladies. The breakfast was done when we arrived. So, Marilyn and Lady Z help us search for a decent meal. We stop in this small café (can’t remember the name)…and although the wait was long…it was okay with me and Classy. It made me feel that our stay was somehow prolonged. Marilyn went off in search of souvenirs for the return trip home…Lady Z went to buy CDs while we ate. Malcolm came by the restaurant and dropped off the CDs that he burned for me. I tried to pay him…he smiled shyly and said nah man. He wished us a safe trip and speedy return. Classy and I both said in unison “Aaaaaahhhhh…woompa looomp!!!” (this was my nickname for Malcolm…don’t ask I don’t have a clue why [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] ).


We eat our meal in relative silence...we are looking around greedily at our surroundings...trying desparately to absorb every inch...every morsel...every fiber of Jamaica. When we finish our meal...we drag ourselves outside...our faces are full of the anxiety and sadness because of tomorrow's inevitable departure. Poor Lady Z...she has had to deal with so much in such a little time from us...we are truly a mess. We buy some CDs from the CD guy. We are moping and figure we will head back to M'ville or the hotel...it doesn't matter anyway. I am tempted to throw myself in front of the next bus coming....but no buses come past us. We see Marilyn approach a gentleman...they are whispering to each other...we are too sad to be nosey. Marilyn then tell us to follow her...she has taken care of us...once again.

Girl if I would have known that I was gonna be stuck overnight in Minneapolis I would have extended my ticket and stayed in JA another day but it's all good. Anywho don't let me interrupt...

We climb in to the van very slowly...what's the rush? If we move in slow motion...Monday will never arrive. Marilyn introduces us to the driver...his name is Marshall. He will be giving us a tour of Ochi. He informs us that we will travel through Fern Gully to Colgate and visit his childhood neighborhood.

Cool...I can do this. We get excited. The van is very plush and modern...immaculate. We drive through town with Marshall pointing out different points of interest. When we get to Fern Gully I realize that I had not planned on touring...so the battery on my camera was DEAD. It takes a camcorder type battery...and cannot be replaced with your standard batteries...shoot! The air is cool and refreshing in Fern Gully. We stop and take pictures...look at the goods with some vendors...etc.

We jump back into the van...and ride to Colgate. We stop to hike through a small meadow...and we get to look over this vista that has an amazing view of Ochi...breathtaking. A goat is casually watching us...and we joke that he would make excellent supper. Marshall then tells us that female goats are not used in culinary dishes...as Marilyn says, "Interesting!"

The next stop is a small roadside bar...or so we thought. Marilyn is practically begging for him to stop here...but he tells us that he has a better spot for us. We pull up...then he slowly drives past the bar. We realized that we have been ambushed...or rather the others realize that we have been ambushed. I didn't. So I get caught by the vendors...they refuse to let me walk by their stand without taking a look...I end up buying two pictures...a set of drink coasters...a trinket box...EVEN a giraffe! What in the world just happened? The other ladies are sitting at the bar crying and laughing at me. How did they get away?

Lady Z tells me that the giraffe may not make it in one piece through customs...so I go and return him....in exchange for a wall shield (which I gave my sister for her house). She loved it by the way.

Marshall challenges Lady Z to do the Sponge Bob...she is laughing at him and his version. The lady bartender tells her that he is doing the male version...and she is to continue with the female verison. It looks like a mating ritual...kikiki I now think that Marshall secretly married Lady Z that day. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
