Maybe because those of us who do not like certain people's behavior have finally learned to leave them alone, stay out of their posts, and not comment. I know I have, let's see it's been several months that I have done that. Works for me.

I think that most often, only male saints are allowed to be sinners. That would never fly w/a female prophet. Look at what they did to Angela Davis. Even her own people called her a whore. Same with Frida Kahlo. In this world, it's okay for men to be spiritual leaders and to be 'loose'. Just look inside the church. BTW, Marilyn, it was not my intention to taint Sugar's post in any way. I merely posed a question based on years of observation on this board. I was not basing my conclusion on others responses to one person's report, but rather on responses to numerous reports posted by both males and females.

I do not know Sugar Shug, and in no way did I disrespect her or her post. I am making no judgements on her behavior or the contents of her report b/c frankly I have made no judgements. I will re-iterate that I was merely pondering the differences in attitude and responses compared to similar reports in the past. Therefore, regardless of what you think Marilyn, I had no intentions of putting a damper on Sugar's post. Just wanted others opinions on the subject, so thank you for your opinion and input.

I never insinuated that she slept w/ diff. men. That is her business, and none of my concern. She claims flirting, making out, cuddling on the couch...Which again is her business. I never said anything about her report is wrong, just wondered why some people are applauded while others are crucified.

First, let me say I haven't even been on this board a full year, so I may or may not have seen the previous 'offensive' post in question. Now with that said...

I commend, applaud, praise, admire, and respect SS for letting us in on all the fun she had in JA. And I respect her for going and having all the fun she could have. Even if she did sleep w/every guy she met down there(not saying she did), she had fun. And she felt free. I swear, some people just will never understand what it's like for young Black women in the states these days. Not only do you have to conform to a body image that is impossible to reach, but you also have to supress love for your heritage b/c ppl will say you're living in the past, you're not allowed to speak up for yourself when people blatently disrespect you b/c ppl say you're being a beeyatch, you truly wear the mask that grins and lies. You're not ever allowed to just be yourself here. So I commend SS for going to JA and being herself among her people, being called beautiful by her people, being appreciated and respected and loved by her people. And however that 'love' was expressed is truly her business. The girl has enough class that she didn't go into detail about her nights in JA. The girl has enough umph to do what the hell she wants to do while in JA. And the girl has enough spiritual foundation to appreciate the experience and respect herself in the morning. Big Ups, Shug! Fiyah to the haters.

LONG experience on this board shows that once you start something like this it DOES taint, ruin and turn into an all out war. All it takes is a post like yours to draw first blood and the vultures decend. They were just waiting on someone to open the door a little crack.

We could feel them the whole time Shug was writing, back in the background going tsk tsk tsk.

There has been a peace of such among the factions on this board, because, for one SIenna, Xavier, Ochigal, Ohlitz, IM and others have asked us to stop bickering.

SO to that end, you might have noted that I (adn mnay of my friends )merely do not talk to those factions any more and ignore their posts and such.

Opening this flood gate is going to bring out the usual barrage of those folks, and it might sound elementary, but we didn't start anything and would appreciate it if you don't approve of us approving that you just move on to the latest post of someone you do agree with and let this young ladies trip/reputation/choices/not be up to the usual Ja.com vicious attack,as many of us have decided we ain't gonna change nobody so why try?

I can see what you are saying. Sorry I haven't read all the responses so I'll just go off of this post. T is my friend. In the story you will see that he came over and slept on the couch. I brought a pineapple and he cut it up for breakfast. I honestly-until you said it didn't notice the underwear thing(if you look again he has on pants-they just slipped down-he isn't in his underwear)-I posted the pic trying to be cute. I said-look at how cute my friend is-and I didn't show his face, I showed his back-that's why I said was being a tease. Also I didn't sleep with a lot of men while in JA. I tried to be respectful and talked throughout to the men that I met that I didn't come to Jamaica looking for a man. I also didn't come to Jamaica expecting to get my groove back. Blah, Blah, Blah...to each his own. All I know is I had fun and enjoyed myself. I'm grown and so were the people I met. I never said anything about sex anywhere. T is the only pic of a male that I was friends with and all I posted was his back. Not trying to be indecent at all. I've seen a number of threads where native Jamaicans are upset about the way that their countrymen are displayed. I hope that I didn't give that impression.

I know what Dr. Bones is referring to-I saw the post with the girlfriend and people were up in arms. I missed the photo but read the debate part. I do think there is a double standard, but I also think it was because of the person that the post was about. People already had issues with this person and the photo was a nail in the coffin. I'm new. I'll get people to have issues with me now that I've written the report. I expect to get bashed on the next report since I'll already have a reputation.
