Have you stayed at RIU?? I found a web page from someone once called 'The Office of Nature'. It is a collection of beach businesses / stalls that is set up just down the beach from RIU. The web page is amazing ... and the food / lobster prepared by these guys is supposed to be amazing!! I wanted to get there on my last visit in January - but we just ran out of time.

Yes Laurel, I know the "Office" quite well as I took many of the photos for the office web site and know Frank , the guy who started the site. Great guy.

As grandparents, we love visiting the schools, kids in the play ground.

I encourage everyone to visit a school during your trip to Jamaica, you'll be hooked like us.
There are so many in need of anything you can give. This is one of the better looking schools, but school supplies are alway short here as well.

Rasta Stan ... I thought I was picking up a 'familar' vibe. Yes, I must get down to that end of the beach and check out The Office on my next visit. My Guy usually has to work during my visits, and he has me tag along with him - had some trouble on an early visit, so he does want me to face a repeat performance of that, so we end up in each others back pocket. During any breaks or time off, we spend running around trying to take care of business stuff for our yard and his daughter. She attends school at Mt. Airey (sp?) - my son and I visited that school when we were in the process of registering her, etc.

I felt a lump in my throat when I saw your photos of the original school .... Kudoos to you and all the others for the efforts put forth with regard to building the new school, the computers, and the endless need for school supplies and books. We do all need to get involved and help with what we can ... how can one resist once you step up to the plate and really get involved with the people - especially the pickney's with their beautiful faces so eager to learn.

Love all the great photos - always wanting to see more, and hear more stories!
