SouthCoast Tr.Beach - Part Four--Little Ochi

My last night in Treasure Beach my friends invited me to dinner at Little Ochi. I’ve been to Little Ochi many times and would never turn down a dinner of Garlic Shrimp and Festival! I love the food, the vibe, the music, and always great company. We placed our order on the drive over, grilled conch, jerk crab and festival…oh lawd have mercy, the Jerk Crab was to die for! I hadn’t seen Blackie, the owner in over a year and a half and he remembered me right off. He was very gracious and took our little group on a tour of the kitchen. WOW! These guys can cook! The burners blasting with red hot fire, and the food looked so natural and rich! The entire staff all had big smiles for everyone, even our little companion Peanut (the dog) was welcomed, only in Jamaica would a little white dog be welcomed in the kitchen…hee hee

This made a perfect ending to my stay in Treasure Beach, good food, good friends, and perfect weather!

Goddess, sounds great to me I'll be there end of November first week of Dec. I just found out this visit you can actully go to Little Ochi via boat. It's only about a 45 minute boat ride, I really want to do that next time, cuz the road to Little Ochi always gets me a woozy.

OK sweetlips that is now the second glimpse of that book with the title: "Sumpn sumpn.... "in Heaven" . What book is that?

if i ever make it over there to TB i think i will finally be able to bring some books to read that have been on my (dusty-for-lack-of-use) reading list. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

(Walk Good, Catch a Fire, Mr. Biswas, ALL the Winkler books.....etc.)

I can't believe I actually read two books while on vacation this trip! I actually save books I'm dying to read for vacation, I'll only allow myself to read the first 5 pages, then the anticipation is worth the wait...yes I'm talking about reading [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] The book is "The 5 people you meet in heaven" it's only two hundred pages but great, made me cry. I also read "The secret life of bees" (I think that was it, I left in JA for a friend to read), only 300 pages and excellent! I like the smaller books for vacation.

Sweeetlips...when you take your boat ride to Little Ochi, make plans to stop at Sunny Island. It's a coral reef outcrop that has built up into a beautiful sandspit(not unlike Pelican Bar) Swim and chill, and then go for the kill at Little Ochi. Good to see you had a safe trip.

I am so hungry, I need good garlic shrimp.
We were only at little Ochi one time, I still remember the diner that took 3 hours we talked to friends and just kept ordering food.. November we will have to go on a boat ride,EA?

I hope I get Sweet lips…I started paying for the trip already but haven’t sent a deposit to Jake’s . Next week or the following should be deposit time. My Air is still to hi, $770, now.

Good photos of the food….Many Mexican restaurants around my work and today I will be eating camarones in moho de ajo.

lol...those shots of the crabs remind me of sitting in my friend's yard...every possible container held a crab the kids had caught...

One time a crab was crossing the street. I ran over to it to sort of shove it out of the way. The damn thing spun and started nipping at me, then a car came so I tried to give it a little kick to get it out of the way, wouldn't you know it clamped onto my toe. To get it off I had to really wind up and let go. Probably the furthest and the fastest that crab has ever travelled and I must have been quite the sight crossing the road with a crab clamped onto my toe.

Oh my goodness that looks soooooooooo good, what is it Eschovisch (sp?) fish? I love the garlic shrimp but the jerk crab was messy but tasty. It is pretty amazing how time flys at Lil Ochi, you eat and talk, and eat and drink, and eat and talk, and before you know it 3 hours have passed. Can't wait til Thanksgiving, oh cool Thanksgiving dinner at Little Ochi

Geo: I just got my confirmation for Mussels! I'm sure you can get SweetLip if you called they will hold it for you and wait for the deposit, what days will you be there? If SweetLip is not available you could get Jack Sprat, I stayed there for 8 days one time, very cozy, but no a/c.
