This trip to Treasure Beach was way too short! But then again most TB lovers would agree any trip to TB is too short I did find the property I was looking for so I can build my little blue house on the sea…..but that will take sometime but at least I’ve started the journey.
I am a true Jake’s lover…I know there are many out there rolling your eyes as I say this but I couldn’t care less, I think the place is awesome and I can’t imaging staying anywhere else. The Jake’s family always makes me feel at home and I’ve made friends with most of the staff I know they truly look forward to my visits. Example, one of the workers ask my friend Susan why she was going wayyyy down the road to find flowers for the room they were cleaning and she said you’ll see. The next day when they came to clean, the girl looked at her and said now I see, it was for your Sweetlips. That made me feel very loved. When I step into the front gate 500 pounds of stress leaves my body, I exhale and I know I'm finally home once again.
When I arrived it was pouring down rain, actually it rain heavy the first two days I was there then nothing after that. And you all know if it’s raining in St. Elizabeth it’s raining all over the island. Anyway the Jake’s family includes three dogs….Peanut, Millie, and Humphry, all gems. Humphry is a brown dog…a Jamaican Brown dog. Humphry adopts guests, he picks his guests when they check in and stays with them until they check out, very cute. Humphry picked me this trip, not so sure that was a good thing. When I arrived I checked my luggage into my room opened the veranda and off to the bar for one of Dougies world famous Rum Punches….well 6-7 punches I think. When I returned to change and go for a swim I had a very wet Brown Dog curled up in the middle of my suitcase sound asleep. See Humphry loves suitcases. I chased him out but couldn’t get him out from under the bed. That was okay with me just as long as he didn’t get back in the suitcase. Well after a few Rum Punches seems I forgot to shut the suitcase and on my return yep there he was back in, and sitting on top of my snow white terry cloth robe. (Which the Jakes staff got sparkling clean the next day, no problem). Needless to say I unadopted Humphry the next morning. But Humphry is cool with me!
What I really enjoy about the location are the views. The room I stayed in this time is most definitely my favorite of all. This is why:

PATH WAY TO HEAVEN...hee hee

JOSEPH BROWN CAPTAIN OF THE ONE LOVE--Boat trips all over the area, picking you up right in front of Jakes!

My new friend Beth (new Peace Crop volunteer working with BREDS) and my dear friend Jason

And of course the best food around: Callaloo Omlet with Mango Juice (I ate this every morning) Yummy!
