WHY, WHY, WHY can't I stop thinking of TB?!?!?!?!
I'm TOTALLY consumed. :love: My husband keeps bringing home pictures of houses for sale there, and he keeps thinking, and thinking...and I keep thinking and thinking.
Something happens to you when you go to Jamaica... I don't know what "it" is, and I don't know why "it" doesn't hit everybody. But, there's 'something' there. It's calling us...
Now what??? It's not time to move. Not yet.

I wish we could go every 3-4 months! But, it's SO expensive from Calif. We paid about $900 each this last time!
My Mr. Wonderful wants to have cash in hand for a down payment when we go next year. What a nice dream...

Cali's just too far from JA.

From Boston it's a 3 1/2 - 4 hour flight and $350 - $400 R/T if we shop around. And I live 15 minutes from the airport.

When JD moved to Florida I figured flights would be cheaper... WRONG!!
At times it's actually MORE expensive for a 72 MINUTE flight!!! Can you imagine!?!?

Anyway, I feel your pain. But I think I love Mr. Wonderful. My kinda guy.

Patty I'm coming from Cali too and you can do way better than $900. In fact I was looking for Thanksgiving for a friend about a month ago and it was only $425, yes it has since gone up but you just have to keep looking. I think American has the best deals for us out of the bay area, and I've flown every airline that gets to JA from here and my preference is American, on time and more leg room.

Patty: You might need a good property evaluator/Realtor, not only to get a 'fair'
assessment of house/land value, but also to take you through the sales/paperwork process which can be frustrating. Finding a good lawyer to process the title/folio is another hurdle best handled with a registered Realtor.There are currently sellers but no Realtors in TB; most agents are in MoBay, Kingston or Ochi. IF he's still working, VERNON IVES, IVES VALUATION and ASSESSMENT SERVICES, is a reputable, reliable and best of all, honest and straightfoward guy to work with. 1.876.952.7251.

As someone here has already said, tho, bring money. One lives best on island with money from off island.

Patty - what a wonderful gift from you and your husband to the Great Bay community.

I've never been to GB or TB and now I'm aching to go. Your pictures are terrific, but the most appealing part of this report (and also Sweetlips' rpt), is the kindness you've shown for the people and communities you've visited. You make a treat to visit this board. Hope you succeed with your retirement/moving plans!
