Beauty of Long Bay is that there is hardly ever people.. and even if there are... its so long it doesnt really matter..... just that wild quality to it...

had a great meal here...hung out. Can't believe i actually ordered vegetarian meals ...more than once even on this trip. So good. Could probably become a vegetarian in Jamaica...until that first jerk stand started heating up...and it wafted by my nose.

HAHAH Nina, that was my joke of the evening! Definitely the most people I like to see when I am somewhere is down to 'we'. A few scattered here and there is OK, after all, I can't be too selfish, I can share a little. Oh BTW IG*, that dosen't count for reggae shows in Mpls, the more the merrier then, hugs

Hey Sassy...so I heard and glad i missed it...it sucks to be back. gonna be a bad week on that note. And Jazz...I will email you when i get time. But come along in the meantime.

Well now I'm sufficiently glowing and we can move on to a cruising day...that will be tomorrow's adventure. I leave you for now with these few last shots from Long Bay.

Yahimba Cottages...yes it's close to the road...but i think i could be happy on that porch for a few nights...no problem.

Loops, AHHHHHHHHHHH...more lovely pics, tenky, I am hoping you took about 400 more (arbitrary number) at least so we can enjoy them until I "Reach". Can I say again I am REALLY appreciating this Trip Report (YES Capitalized, LOL [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Yes it was some caffeine, but not as much as you would think, [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Just the high PA gives ya. no drugs required!

IM are you going to the Reggae Fest in Trempealeau this year? Hopefully, we will be in JA during that time...if not we may be there in Wisconsin. As for the concerts in MSP, why do they have to have them during the week, my husband has to work in the morning so the 2 hour trip one way doesn't work for us... BUT next year my husband is retiring WHICH means more time for Jamaica, more time for reggae in MSP, more time for EVERYTHING!!

IM did I tell you we drive by on Highway #2 several times a year on our way to Iron River (Pike Lake Chain-Eagle Lake) and Ashland? We should meet for a few at the Silver Star on #13, is it still open? We might even know some of the same people in the area, used to live in Bennet, then later Cloverland- love those people, the Finlanders I mean. They are great! *IG, not sure on the Trempleau thing, I've thought about it, but the time of year is so COLD still! We'll see if our friend from Forest Lake comes back to Mn that weekend. I'd love to meet you one of your trips north, let me know. Silver Star burned down last fall, but there is always the little place just past there, and YES, the mid week Mpls shows are really a drag, time wise! It used to be I had to work, now everyone else has to work and I just cannot make those drives back and forth in one night anymore due to old age, LOL did I say that?

Ok, loops, sorry! I want to see more, ya know that already so I'll stop the begging and learn patience....

LOOPSTER ... loving this. portland is the most beautiful parish .. followed closely by st ann.

i loved seeing your pictures -- they brought back wonderful memories. unfortunately, for me, i was living there at the time and assumed i would be living there for a long, long time. so, i never took pictures.

i saw your report of the hibiscus lodge in ochi. spent a number of nights there and absolutely adored it. glad to hear, after lo so many years, that it is still as nice as ever.

and, yes, they had a wonderful breakfast .... i can see all the white there and the basket chairs at the bar (almond tree, i believe).

gives me lots of good memories.

ah, bonnie view .... well, i stayed there almost ten years ago and it was run down then. can't imagine what it is like now. but, lord, that view ..... not much prettier than that anywhere in the world.
