oh (((Angie))) how did i almost miss this....oh girl thats so wonderful.

when i was a child those school were runned by nuns, and for school the girls either go to regular school or kids for the district go to that school....i remember all of those faces (yes they have not changed over the years).

oh btw if anyone wants to retire [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] you can get a job with the Red Cross teaching at that school or other school in Ja that need your help......years ago i use to do Riverton City in Kingston.

ok mi likle out dated, so mi not too sure Red Cross is doin it still but i am sure other Org.are they give you free room and board an some money.

For those interested in helping with the cosmetology department needs at the school. I teach at a middle school that is down the street from the high school. Everyday this young lady from the high school comes down to our school to volunteer a hour helping in the office. She is majoring in cosmetology and often brings this dummy head that has hair and clamps on to the counter with her to work on the latest style.

Angie said the the cosmetology department could use wigs, but it occurred to me that these would be great for the girls to practice on. I inquired about them from the young lady, and GF has a friend who is a licensed beautician and can get them at discount. They will fit nicely under clothes in the suitcase, so I am planning to take some of these to the girl's home.

Lady M -- I would be interested in a couple for the trip and one for my lil' Jazzy who has the desire to be a cosmotologist and operate her own shop one day (perhaps I can get my hair done for free, no).

Again, I agree with Monk. There is enough money so that every one should profit in Ja..still only a select few does.

Marilyn, I agree, taking wigs would certainly help the girls in school. I've collected several wigs and around 20 bags of weave for the girls to practice on from ladies in the office. One suggestion for anyone wanting to donate hair products. These girls will need black hair products and wigs/weave. It is highly unlikely that they will work in an establishment where they will have mixed clientel.

Wanted to let everyone know that I received an email from Ms. Black inviting me to their Christmas annual dinner which is today. I wish so much that I could be there.

If anyone would like to donate a wig or other hair products, just let me know via PM and I will send you my home address. Of course if you want to take it yourself, I can have the directions sent to you as well. I do plan to visit over the New Years holiday and if there is enough to take, I will be glad to do so. I know...short notice, but I thought I would throw it out there anyway.

By the way you have a beautiful smile to match your heart. I seen you and Marilyn one day on the Negril beach but didn't want to interupt your conversation. I hardly ever post here but do always keep up with the reading. Just wanted to give you a shout out as I think you are a very special lady. I can hear that through your post.

Thank you. I wish you had said something, we always love to meet people from the board. Was this when we were in the water? Angie and I had one opportunity to get a long talk in this trip, and it was in the ocean. Lovely.

I love St Anns Bay.. so i try to go there as often as i can... one day soon.. I will also try to visit.. and bring some things by..

do you have a contact that you speak to from here... to see what they need? Although sometimes i think its just as easy to buy things once i get there....

By the way.. is Mikey Dread going to try to to run Libby and Chefs old place?? I am so saddened they are not there.. even though i know the move was best for them.....

we were attached to that place....the view.. the tranquility... was sad when i drove by last month.. to know they weren't there so i never stopped...

Tfollis, I really do wish you had marched yourself right up to Marilyn and I and introduced yourself. I love meeting new people and getting to know them is even better. Marilyn and I did have a wonderful morning in the ocean right before I was to leave the island. I was so depressed that I just ran back to the hotel and threw on some jeans and got on the plane with the salt water still on my skin. I could not bring myself to rinse it off. Or did you see us somewhere else. Thanks for wishin me well and the desires of my heart. I was talking with the Lord this morning while taking a shower and again expressed the desires of my heart. So, from your lips and mine to his ears, I pray...

BND, I'm happy you liked the report. I do have a contact person but she is in Jamaica at the home. I will send you the information via PM. Every little thing helps. I'll also post a list of items that she told AJ and myself they most needed.

No I didn't see you ladies this last trip. I think it was in June/July. You two were walking down the beach and I was in the water. Now Marilyn... you have a look alike in Negril trus me. I didn't think you were in Negril in September right after Ivan but I had to look twice. Seriously the lady could have been your twin.

I know I should have stopped you ladies and introduced myself and I really did regret not. Thought maybe I would see you again but never did. I promise I will next time for sure.

I'm soon on my way back Thursday with my son. I can't wait... I'm so ready for that warm Jamaica air.

Hi Angie

Wanted to take a minute to tell you how much I enjoyed our stay at LooseEnds, don"t know which day was more exciting as there were many even though this was one of the most laid back trips I've ever taken. I have learned as you have that it is not always about the "Bling Bling" as the young folks say. It is about sometimes relaxing in the company of friends and Family. Laying by the pool and having a good conversation with your Honey your sisterGirls and thier children and getting to really know one another.

It was about meeting my Brother Basil and knowing he is a Man who can teach me so much about taking life by the hand and living it with a Gusto. Basil my Freind, my Brother for Life.

For me this trip was my Dream, because it alowed me to get the first taste of what it will be like to live there in a community with people who can teach me so much about Life and Humility while they thank Jah for the little they have and doing so much more with it than Us "people of privledge" who are so caught up in our enjoyment that we don"t take the time to talk to, embrace, listen and learn from an elderly man as he prunes the dead branches from the beautiful trees and bushes of his property, a young girl too shy to speak with you but you bring her out by courting her as a mother would. Its about being in the company of A wise Father and his grown Sons and witnessing the Love and Respect they have for one another, and the repect that their community has for them. Its about watching a mother and daughter interact with one another and knowing this is a blessed thing. Its about going to the market with a dear friend and watching her bargin not cheat her country men and women for the best and fair price for the ingridients needed to make one of the many gourmet quality meals she will prepare for you. Its about sitting in her kitchen and watching and learning tips on how to prepare some of the delicious dishes, because I find that when I am on My Beloved Island Home I actually loose weight, Is it the lack of poisons in the growth of the food, is it the Ocean Air and love surrounding the preperation of the food, is it the freshness of the vegetables and the fish and seafood that we eat an abundance of or is it the freedom of just sitting down after a long walk and just being quiet as you listen to all of the beautiful sounds, of music ,and Ocean, and tree frogs and the lyrical voices of your family in Jamaica?

I will never forget the attempts of teaching me how to swimm by a very, very patient person and the hours of just sitting and talking about everything and nothing. It"s about being with my Friend and his son, our son as the Love flows back and forth from one to the other. I love seeing Black Fathers with their Sons and Sons with their Fathers. BEAUTIFUL.

I will always treasure the oppurtunity you gave me to FIND my future home and Family in the beautiful community of Oracabessa, and the day that I met them was truly a fun and magical day for me. When you know you are Home you can feel it all the way to the very fiber of your Soul and Truly I was home that day. Seeing what I now call C"s Dream is one that I pray I am able to one day see come true and I know it will be a Beautiful Place full of Love and Magic.

It was a wonderful day spent up at Sea Lawn with Rasta Mike and his four legged friends and his Awesome veiw, Lord that is another view from a Hill that I must add to my collection of Magnificent.

As everyone has said You are a Very Special Woman and I add my affirmation also not just for the Spritual help and enjoyment that I found with a Kindred Spirit but because of the Generosity, and Goodness of Heart that is my Sister Angie.
Thank You for makig this a Thanksgiving that could have been a Sad one a Joyous Occassion.

I pray that The Young Sisters at Windsors Girls Home can feel the Love that you have for them and know that you are keeping them in your thoughts and prayers everyday and that they will never be forgoten by You.

Blessings Angie you are a Light that shines Brightly for many. This was a Wonderful Report.

I am glad that you got the trip of your dreams. I'm not sure that I have had mine yet, I think it is to come.

You and Angie had the PERFECT setting for dreams come true at Loose Ends. It was a fabulous place.

Getting in touch with people on a personal level always makes a trip to Jamaica the best. I was honored to meet Keisha myself, she is such a bright spirit.

My plans for this summer include two months, so I might even slow down a little myself, but I doubt it. I am gogo girl.

Best future plans in your new home to be. YOu go girlfriend!!!!!!!!!
