Sweetlips... Now that I drive in Jamaica... I'm starting to be familiar with more faces there. Nice likkle bar upstairs there. I took the picture from there. I'm sure you'll get there soon. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Laurel... right now I just dream about building. I have to get a job first. BUT... I plan on starting quite small. 1 story with a concrete slab roof. I'll use it for a rooftop deck until the 2nd floor goes on. Indoor bathroom, basic kitchen, outdoor shower... *sigh* I am a short walk from the main road. In a straight line I'd guess maybe 1/4 - 1/2 mile??? from the sea.

I plan on frequent visits until I retire there.

Magic... it's what keeps me sane.

My first JA trip with Jamaica Dreamin. She was there a week ahead of me. My friends picked me up in MoBay and by the time we arrived in Billy's Bay I had consumed MANY REd Stripes.
JD was waiting for us and was quite Striped herself when we finally arrived. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img]

The steps leading to Pedro Bluff. There's a trail out there, rugged, but worth the trip.

One of my favorite shots. Taken from a small restaurant where we had a wonderful breakfast... I THINK the name was Irie Vibes??

This is by far, my favorite beach spot. It's behind my friend's Aunt's house in Great Bay. (Next door to Blue Marlin Villa)
The Lignum Vitae is right on the beach and a nice shady spot to sit an look at the sea or set up for a beach party.

And this is the view from the Veranda of that house. Not sure we'll get the oportunity to stay there again. But it was great while it lasted.

I have a good friend from Hampstead in St. Ann. When ever she go's home she's stays in Ochie / hangs out around Salem & Runaway Bay. I keep trying to get her to come down to TB for a bit.

OK - I thought one of the fotos was your home already under way ...

We have walls up and 'framing'(?) for windows & doors .... waiting for some $$$ to fall into our laps for the next phase of roof, floor, doors & windows [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] . All in good time ... just two rooms to start with, then he wants to add another two that will be the basic kitchen and attached bathroom ... anything further after that will be built up top of that - and I will continue to visit as often as I can until I can retire as well.

LUCKY YOU to be soo close to the seashore ... I am down by the golf course in Negril, so I will have a much longer walk to soak my feet - still - I will have the tropical home I have always dreamed about ...

Laurel, you're using block or wood?

The construction you saw belongs to a friend of ours who is building across the lane from us. Last I heard he was planning on putting up a board house. Tho since Ivan, he may have changed his mind.

The lane ends at the main road directly across from a pasture with no access thru it, we'd still have a bit of a walk to get to a decent piece of beach by road, but it's a lovely, quiet walk.

Great Bay dead ends by back sea side/pedro bluff, so we don't get any drive thru traffic. Very much a neighborhood setting in Great Bay.

That is in Westmoreland? Hanover maybe?
Anyway, it's at a restaurant/bar that we stop at sometimes on the way in from Mobay. I can never remember the name.

But I can find out.

It's a great lunch stop. There's a dock that has both covered and open patio areas with tables/seating. That pic was taken from the covered patio. It's never been crowded during the day when we stop there.

I may have another photo or two from there, I'll have to search.
