The ride home was nice - I got to see everything that I wanted to see again, on the way back. I still want to go to places like Port Maria, and have lunch, and walk around.

This little guy was so cute, I wanted to jump out of the bus and hug and kiss all over him. He was the cutest! We were stopped for this hugh bulldozer.

As a lady of the Big Ten, I will stick up for Napi and say that once I get past 20 in roman numerals, I am lost. I can never read the year at the end of the film when it is like:

Nine Miles, St. Ann, Jamaica. Friday February 5, 2005.

What can I say? Going to Nine Miles was probably the single most important factor in deciding to go to Jamaica. This portion of the trip, for us, was spiritual. I don’t know how else to say it. I am not saying it like I am some kind of overzealous nut and I am not witnessing to anyone – and I know it sounds weird for those of you who haven’t been there, or those who have and have not had this type of experience. I know Napi did – I went back and read her report 2 days ago, and I could have written it. I know exactly what she means.



Like NapiHead327, I have no idea how long it took us to get there. I was so taken with the sights and sounds, and I was so happy, I could have driven to Negril. I remember sitting in the truck, kicked back, windows down, reggae on, going through a small village, just smiling – to the point that I realized that I must look like one silly woman, just smiling and giving the occasional nod or wave to someone, as though we were familiar with one another. That’s how it felt to me, anyway.



I said to someone on Saturday night “Why is Bob Marley that important? Well, he’s the reason that anyone in this room knows about reggae, Rasta and Jamaica.” I think that I first knew of Jamaica because of Bob Marley.
