Third day in Negril and I'm ready to leave . . . tapping my fingers . . . Roberta loves the beach and we stay.

The days were spent walking up and down the beach chatting with vendors that i've known for years . . . did not do a lot, seems we're rooted to the beach chairs . . .

Roberta needed a "Burger King" fix. Hit the cambio and the mini mart at the same time.

Most cabbies were great with the exception of one . . . we agreed on a price from Fun Holiday to the cambio and being dropped of at Sunrise. When we got to Sunrise, the dread driver wanted double . . . had a minor scuffle, he locked the car doors, Roberta was terrified, she was in front, me in the back. I don't scare easily . . . he was at a disadvantage being in the front, i guess he thought we would just give him extra money . . . got a hold of his dreads, pulled him right back in a head lock . . . :verymad: :verymad: he unlocked the door immediately, never paid him, was so ****** off, kicked his car before he had a chance to speed off . . . don't think he will pull that one any time soon . . . Now, I was never a lover of Negril before, now I really detest the place!

Our last night in Negril, Wendy Lindo a friend of Charlie and Dawn's who lives way up in the West End invited me to dinner. John, Wendy's husband drives a Juta bus.

Their home is way past the lighthouse . . . lovely view . . . we had a great evening . . . topped it off with a cheesecake for desert . . .

YIKES - YA GOT MOXIE!! I am never allowed to go off with just any driver ... only one that is chosen/arranged for me if it is not Audley, Alton, or Tony ... so I never have these experiences.

Great report...I can't believe you had the courage to do that to the taxi driver...WOW you go girl! Did you get any pictures of Sunrise? Never heard of it.

Great report so far Lucija! HOORAY to you for showing that driver some manners, people like him are why I started driving myself, I can't take the dickering & bickering!!! I agree with you on how much time I can take of Negril. It's a nice place to visit, but I don't often spend the night. Too bad, it's getting so a Lady cannot go to the beach for a swim alone and have any sort of peace. I'm looking forward to more story, please and thank you!

The dread never expected that, the cab was right in front of Sunrise . . . there were cars whizzing by . . . midday . . . i think he was more embarassed more than anything . . . the workmen were hysterical with laughter . . .

Good job Lucija... he got off alot easier with you then he would have me. Let me know what you thought of fun holiday as that is 1 of properties we have it narrowed down to. Why do you dislike Negril so? We have never stayed there but visited during the day a few times...alot more people there harrasing you but they usually take a NO pretty well, might be different for females as all the rastahs and rent a dreads think they are players. Hi Steve,
I'm more of laid back type of person, way too many white people in Negril (no disrispect, as I'm a white person). . . Negril feels more like Disney World to me . . . too crowded, feels like a HUGE A1! Of course, these are just my feelings . . . we all have different needs and preferences . . . however, I do love the Negril beach!
