Like previously stated, whitey was probably the term used to describe your appearance. without benefit of knowing them, lots of ill **** could have gone down to prevent them from getting to you, or they could have totally used you.

Day 4:

If nobody's noticed so far - I kinda like "vantage" shots... hillsides in the distance, clouds on the horizon, etc.

This is at the Tropical Plaza at Half Way Tree... I was waiting for the SHOPS to open [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

The friends I DID associate with had one of the most "stoosh" apartments I'd heve seen in my life. This was from one of their two balconies.

Another hillside photo - I took this one because I love that line of mist, like someone had drawn a line with smoke....

Ok so this one looks like a Lite-Brite but I love the vision! This is the hillside facing Kingston proper.

Am so enjoying your trip report! Only visited Kingston once and loved it there.
It does look like u enjoyed your trip and saw lots by yourself. Too bad about the "friends". Have relatives that have done that! So---carry on! We need to see more pics and read more!!!

Day 5:

Another day of spoiling myself [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] This time to Devon House. The restaurant ("Grog"? or something like that) was REALLY nice

I was the only patron LOL

The view of Devon House from my table (well, I had to stand up and lean over the fence!)

The fountain - the gardener was doing his thing and left a pile between me and the fountain but it doesn't spoil the view to me.

The front of Devon House. Doesn't this look like a post card? I love it!

Day 5 continued:

These are shots from within the Devon house. My tour guide was really nice... I was her only tourist so we were able to chat.

Unfortunately, this is it on the photos. My camera died after the last one... the batteries were dead, and the spare I brought was dead as well.

Sitting room - all furniture is authentic, non-recreations.

The billiard table even had a few pool balls left. They're made of ivory.

Ok so...

Let me say that I've never eaten so much curry in my life. My favorite dish in the WHOLE world is curry goat. I ate it every time I could. And you know what? The Jamaican dish tastes JUST like MINE!!! Thank you G2!!

I highly recommmend Jamrock to anyone going to New Kingston. Their menu is off the chain.

The Hilton has Curry Chicken Sandwiches. Damn they was good! I would grab 2 and a Ting for 500 JA and head to their pool... of course I could never afford their room rates but I could crash their poolside! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Coming home I had to bring a loaf of Hardo bread and a bag of Bulla, which taste SO much better than mine. I think I brought half the island home with me! There is a factory outlet store that I went shopping at with my Brazillian friends. There were six of us - and me the only one who could not speak Portuguese, but ironically I was the only one who could understand the Jamaican accent with no problem (it was like a light went on... the first two days my favorite words were "huh?" and "pardon?" but suddenly...it made sense!).

If anyone wants the address to the store just PM me and I will send it you. That is, if I can do that without breaking any forum rules!
