Not really no - I was a target though. Where ever I went I was greeted with the "outstretched hand". Only once did I actually give money to a guy with his hand held out, and that was because his shtick was so incredibly off the wall I felt he deserved at tip! Devon House (the Grogge Shoppe area) on a Friday night used to be hopping (at least it was when I lived in JA six years ago). Used to be one of my favourite haunts...

mi hate come dung yah caw it always make me homesick wen mi see alla the pix of places i bin too, and sadder at places mi nat even dream bout inna mi own likkle country

anyhow mi glad u post this still danielth- as a country girl it give a appreciation of Town. mi cant believe u go vacation by uself, and why u even badda communicate wid di 'friends' is beyopnd me- SEVA ALL TIES MAN!!!!! u neva do the party scene in town?

tuffstuff - Funny you should say this! I have a real hard time looking at someone else's trip report, or even TV shows that feature Jamaica, because I get SO insanely jealous! I want to be there, I want to be the one to take those pictures, I want I want I WANT!

And no I didn't do the party scene in town because.. well, it's not quite my scene.

YAH! I love alaska. I always tell peole it reminds me of being in africa and people think I am nuts. other people say that ja reminds them of africa... maybe there is a connection. who knows...nice report

Sometimes I don't see a posting for about a month. Don't know why but it happens. This is true for yours, but what a pleasant surprise this morning to view it. Thanks Big Man.

About the staring at you, I also was some novelty when I went downtown Kingston shopping, especially with the children. It looked like they could turn their heads completely around to gape at me. It was alright with me, but very different to have yourself in that situation, when in America, no one gives me the time of day.

I remmember being up in the hills of St. Ann's. We were at the home of a freinds cousins. The cousins daughter had a beatiful baby girl (about 7 -8 months old) Every time I tried to talk to her she would just look at me and SCREAM bloody murder [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] .

We went to a rum shop down a country lane. The children in the area were definately staring at me. Cute :love:
