Glad you enjoyed your trip. My only memory of Port Royal as a child (went once with my mom and siblings) was the "giddy huose" [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

((DanielTH)) someone else who enjoys Kingston the way i do..... I've really come to feel very much at home there now.. even though i couldnt get around to save the life of me.... never really learned the roads....

So you went to Port Royal.. where else did you venture?

I understand hanging out by the gate.... i too have a friend where i stay..who is the security guard.. letting cars in and out... and i often take a chair and sit with him ..often early in the morning... or at the end of the day... and we just reason on all kinds of topics....

if ever i dont stay there.. ill miss that... but i think that hotel is a place i will always come back to.. even for short visits...

This is a photo of a print I bought at Devon House. The artist is Nyla D'Andrea and I have fallen in love with her work. I wish I could find more! It looks like its water color, and most of her paintings are of structures like this or landscape features...

The title of this one is "Old Style JA House"

You know.. ive been to Devon House several times and have never seen the artwork....

too bad.. because like you ..i love to collect art.... esp caribbean art.... and i have a few nice jamaican pieces...

i did go to a great gallery though.. thanks for sharing...

heres some pieces i was considering..very pricey.. so i just took photos for now...

It wasn't IN the museum itself, but a small store in the courtyard called "All Things Jamaican". They had a lot of different art forms, including wood carved sculptures etc.
