It broke my heart. They were quite far from each other. He said the donkey fought with the other donkey(s). I only saw the one. His head was hanging very low and he wasn't in good shape at all. All I could do was look away. Even after looking away - I still have those images in my head. I try to push them out. I don't think they had any intention of helping the Donkey. I don't know about the horse - I asked, but I couldn't get his answer. He wasn't much of a talker.

Well, the "newbies" didn't like Jamaica very much. Judy couldn't handle the bugs or the car rides (she got car sick EVERY time we went anywhere). And Suzy broke her thumb and injured her leg. Her arm is still in a cast... and she has to use a walker

It was so sad...
We came across a dead cow on one of our hikes, but that was different. At least he wasn't suffering anymore..

Oh Yes - they can and do fight .... they can be VERY mean beasts! Horses as well ....

By no stretch am I an expert -

Too bad the 'Newbies' did not enjoy their visit. I have sort of given up trying to get my friends or family to come join me .... way too much stresssss if they don't feel it - and who needs that??

Thank you for the beautiful shots.

Sorry to hear about the newbies. I've learned through my years of travelling to Ja that I better travel alone...and meet people there or I better travel with a like minded Jamaicaholic otherwise the trip will be way too stressful b/c I'm worrying about whether they are having a good time. I've been on too many trips where the other person just didn't get "it".

It's true!
the funny thing was that Suzy was the one who got hurt (we KNOW she was in pain), yet Judy was the one who cried and complained the whole time.
