The Witch's House
When we get back into the car Gilbert says that we can drive past the White Witches house. I say OK-I saw it briefly on my way back from Ochi, but this time I can take a couple of pics. I tell him that I’m not interested in a tour. As we are driving down the street, I’m very quiet. Gilbert tells me that he can sense that I don’t want to leave. He tells me that I should come back and really spend more time so that I can really understand and start speaking patois. I just nod my head and try to absorb as much as I can because my time is dwindling by the second. We are driving, and driving and driving and we can’t seem to find the Witches’ house. We stop at a bus stop and ask a young lady in red for directions. She tells us it’s just up the road. I loved the red she had on and she allowed me to take her picture. Finally we found the house. Ok….It’s a house, but what had me captivated was the view on the other side of the road. The ocean!!!!!!!

So we continued on our way down the road. I told Gilbert to just drive and I'd tell him when to stop. We kept driving and I yelled stop because I saw this

I asked if he would go toward the water and he said yes. I was captivated. For the rest of my time in JA I sat next to the sea wall and felt the wind hitting me in all directions. It was lovely.

After staying and watching the water for at least an hour, Gilbert said that it was time to go. I was sad to leave this place. I was able to meditate and it was just so beautiful. The ending of this day was truly a blessing. Once I got back into the car it kinda hit me that I was really leaving. I had to say goodbye to the ocean, the trees, and the mountains. I just feel so lucky to by chance have stumbled upon this country. Who knew that I would need this relaxation, this piece of tranquility so much. All too soon I was back at Sangester for my second and final time.






I said good bye to Lindsae and Gilbert and went to check in my luggage. I again enjoyed a wonderful trip to JA. Who knew that I could get so much out of a vacation? I never knew that I could reflect upon my life while enjoying myself. JA is like my special little blessing. I can’t wait to share it with all my friends. I want them to have fun, but to slow down and get in touch with themselves. Being here in the States all I can think about is that I can’t wait to get back to Jamaica…if only for a few days, shoot I’d take a few hours by the water.
