Angelina’s and Bourbon Beach
By the time we get back we are kinda hungry. I have the number for Angelina and I know that they will pick you up from the hotel. Stacy calls them and asks will they pick us up. They tell us that they aren’t picking up anyone anymore tonight. The person on the phone asks Stacy where we are staying and when she tells her, the waitress informs us that we are only a couple of hotels over. I don’t how we lost track of time, but we have to motivate up and leave the hotel since the waitress told us that she would have a table waiting for us. We walk down the side of the road to the hotel. Stacy asks if this is safe. Tonya says that she feel like a hooker walking down the street with cars wizzing by us honking their horns yelling out to us. I’m just laughing trying to walk in a straight line after all the rum. We get to Bar-B-Barn and find Angelina’s.
We must have gotten there around 8:00-8:30. I didn’t realize that this was late for dinner in Negril. Walking through Bar-B-Barn, I thought the hotel looked really nice and the atmosphere at Angelina’s was great. When we got there we were the only patrons in the restaurant.
Our waitress comes over and puts the napkins in our laps. She came out with the best bread in the world-We devoured it. I had the shrimp scampi. Those were the juiciest shrimp of my life. (Sorry no pics of the food-I was so hungry that by the time I remembered to take a pic it was all gone!)
The Mighty Diamonds were playing at Bourbon Beach. We could hear music playing. We asked the waitress what time the party started and she said about 9:30. She told us that Bourbon Beach was next door. After we finished dinner we walked outside to find Bourbon Beach. We see a sign for Bourbon Beach but don’t see any entrance, just some guys on the corner trying to flirt. Figuring that we are walking in the wrong direction we turn around. We are walking down the street with cars beeping and speeding by and we still can’t find Bourbon Beach. It seems like we were walking forever and we can’t figure out why the waitress told us it was next door. We finally ask someone and we find out we are walking in the wrong direction-DUH!! We turn around and walk all the way back to Angelina’s and it is right next door as the waitress said. Ya’ll should have seen how big the sign was that said Bourbon Beach. LOL. Anyway-we walk up to the gate and learn that the concert doesn’t start until 10:00. It’s about 9:00 so we decide to go back to the hotel and come back later. I didn’t happen we all fell asleep.
My Quiet Morning on the Beach
I wake up early the next morning. It was 5:45 US time and 4:45 JA time. I couldn’t fall back asleep so I decide to unpack. I’m in a room by myself with two full beds, so unpacking consists of taking clothes out of my suitcase and stacking them on the bed….LOL. Ok-now what. It isn’t even 6:00 in the morning and the girls are still asleep. I get my journal out and start to jot notes about yesterday’s travels. I’m still laughing because we came all the way to Negril with its world-renowned 7 miles of beach and I didn’t even get to see it in the sunlight. After I get slice some bun (my morning ritual) I decide to go outside and explore.
When I get outside it is very peaceful. I only see one person on the beach. As I walk closer to the water I see two fisherman. Later two men on horseback trot by and say hello.
Ain't that always the problem? Good food and warm weather is the formula for sleep, so by the time you finish eating and walking, you're almost passed out.
I don’t know how long I stayed on the beach. After a while I headed back to the front of the property to get some pictures of flowers. I could immediately see the effects of the lack of rain. Many of the flowers look parched and were dried out.
Dang Are They Still Asleep?
I’m not sure what time it was when I came back in, but from the pic you can see that Tonya and Stacy were still asleep. I decided to read. Tonya had bought a couple of Oprah magazine with her so I read that and wrote in my journal.
