We made plans with Angie and Doc O to meet them later at Catcha for cocktails, etc....but don't think for a minute that our adventures for the day ended there.....

While walking across the hotel grounds, a young lady approached in a near panic.....

"Please help! Please help!! Him drown him drown him drown!!!!!"

I bolted across the yard, looked over the edge, and there, maybe 15-20 feet from the edge of the cliffs, was a young man obviously moments away from drowning....I ran and grabbed a pool floatie and dashed down the steps to the water....fortunately, another guest had also seen what was happening...I arrived at the edge of the water just in time to pull the poor, spluttering, half-drowned soul up out of the water.....and this is when things got really interesting......

I could plainly see that the young man was in need of medical attention, so I instructed Pooh to dial 119 for an ambulance....imagine our surprise when the person at the other end of the line asked why we didn't just take him in our own car!!!! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70367-help.gif[/img]...he then, somewhat reluctantly, provided us with another number to call!!!

An ambulance eventually arrived and took the poor slob away......

My best guess is that he was a neighborhood kid trying to impress his little girlfriend....I'm sure she was highly impressed.... [img]/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img]

I hope he is OK...I just wished I could have seen him again before we left....so I could smack him in the mouth and tell him he's a damn fool idiot!!!!!! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70388-shameonyou.gif[/img]

medical services are "different" when you leave the country - now i always buy travel insurance - one of my cousins got sick on a cruise - she was in New Zealand - she was airlifted off the cruise ship - after paying their bill [img]/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img] and landed in the hospital for over a week in a coma - on some small island where they only spoke french - her husband is in a hotel - barely able to communicate with the doctors - Kaiser wanted her to come home - but she was in a coma - everything turned out alright - but then they had to buy tickets to get back to Oakland - total extra cost - $12,000 [img]/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img] - but they had travel insurance [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70409-waytogo.gif[/img]

when i went to Kenya they told me to take my own hyperdermic needle [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70392-silly.gif[/img] just in case - don't want to catch AIDS from an unproperly sterilized needle
