it's not the fanciest of hotels, but we stayed there about 4 days and felt quite at home there. the kids loved that pool, and every nite would go down and swim and float around, sometimes without even eating dinner.

nice lickle place.

Sista Country - for a budget place (no pool, just bed and breakfast), Shirley Retreat House on Maeven Street is not bad. It's central-ish too, off Hope Road just below Kings House Rd.

SistaCtry - you will like it there.. close to everything yet quiet & secluded.. Parking not a problem either when u rent a car and can walk ova to the hilton gift shop if you figet toiletries at night [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]

and it's round the corner from Knutsford Boulevard - fabulously convenient when me and the kids attended street concerts during independence.

and friends found it easy to come and visit me there - including the mighty Q3210, and an old friend who rode his tandem bike from the National Library right downtown, visited me at the Altamont, then continued his ride to his home up in Beverley Hills.

oh and lets not forget walking distance to both the USCIS office & the US embassy for those who are obtaining visas... as well as a short drive from Constant Spring Rd shopping centres

the food at Altamont is so-so, but the staff are very nice. breakfast is included in the price, and they only serve it up until a certain time (11 o'clock, I believe). one day they saved breakfast for me and my daughters when we had to go somewhere and came back around 11:30.

Sistactry the hotel evan recommends sound nice but as plan B ask your family down there to inquire about the Hilton for you, they sometimes have locals only rates just have them book it, right by emancipation park if the g/baby coming with you and a mini amusement land right cross the street, plus short drive go devon house and tings.

how old is your granddaughter?
