I have always considered myself an relatively easy going, relaxed, laid back sort of person...but I did not know what relaxed was until after I had spent my first couple of weeks in Jamaica. I remember Solomon saying to me near the end of my first visit in 2002...I can see now mon...now you really slowed down.

But one of the things I like about the Westend is not always feeling relaxed. At times there is an exciting edge to life up there. Especially for first timers. Audrey said to me...I don't know if I would have felt comfortable enough to enjoy the Westend if you had not been there with me Dad! Sometimes it is scarey up here [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Like walking home from the Rockhouse after dinner...

She learned fast to look away after a polite "No thank you" regardless of the service that was being offered [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]



And by the end of our time on the Westend...this girl had attitude LOL

Another first on this trip was a visit to Rick's Cafe. When I went with my son in 02, we stayed 3 nights at Banana Shout, next door to Rick's, and did not go over. But Audrey wanted to check it out sooooo...

Am I ever glad we did...we had a great time being entertained by the cliff jumpers.

I also got to check out the telephoto on my new camera. This set of photos made me happy with my choice [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70409-waytogo.gif[/img]

After we got a couple of drinks at the bar and walked around scoping out the joint, we found a couple of good seats for the show. This was our view...



And this is what the camera was able to see...



Time to show his stuff...



I don't know about you all, but I call this INSANELY TALENTED...



I won't tell you what happens next....you will just have to make the trip to Rick's sometime and take in the spectacle!!

It was also fun watching the kids...gotta love the kids...No they are not giving the peace out sign...they are looking for two dollars a jump [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]





Even one crazy white boy was able to climb those cliffs barefoot (How the hell they do that and not get cut to shreds?) and take the plunge..

The peace and quiet of the castle yard is quite the contrast to life outside the gait with all the peddlers and pushers and horns and buses and cars rushing past so close you can feel them brush the hair on your arms [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70392-silly.gif[/img]

Ahhhh we are home once again...

There is always something to look at perched high upon the cliff. I can spend hours simply gazing out to sea...

After 9 days our time at the castle is coming to an end [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70361-embarassed.gif[/img]
There is a sense of sadness leaving our friends and home at BCC...but with it, feeling of excitement as we look to move down to the beach for more adventures.

So goodbye to BCC and the Westend for now...we will be back God willing [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70409-waytogo.gif[/img]

Speechless... Great pics....LOVE LOVE LOVE THE WESTEND. Thank you for sharing. I spent a lot of time on the Westend for my birthday this year in September.....and I'm usually a beach person, but I loved it up there. I've stayed at the Rockhouse before and loved it but I was there by myself and it's definitely a place for a more romantic interlude.

Your daugther is gorgeous. She's one lucky lady to have her day introduce her to Ja.
