yes turdman...i was exhausted all week, but i did my best to push the button...in some cases 3 times a shot! Once to realize the lens cap was still on, then another to realize you need to turn the camera ON, then finally...the actual semi-successful shot. sometimes, it's easier to just leave the camera in the room. Re: Flashbacks From The Fine Art of Sitting orrrrrrrrrrrrr
so i see this question asked a lot everywhere....Which should we go to, Mayfield or YS?
I say...why not do both? they're both quite different and beautiful, why miss one in favor of the other? Mayfield is more of a riverwalk and one you need to be more in shape for to enjoy...it's also more natural. YS, while very manicured, is still a gorgeous nice sized waterfall with several other activities nearby...tubing and the canopy tour add to the options. It's a lovely place to just sit and listen and watch the water flowing. I thought the jitney ride in was very enjoyable, winding thru cow and horse pastures and open spaces in the countryside. oh yes...we saw 3 different species of hummingbirds while there as well...and not fleetingly. These buggers were steady at the feeders hung at the gift shop at the base of the falls.
so i say do them both...and while you're at it...do Roaring River too. Can you tell i love me some rushing water?
Re: Flashbacks From The Fine Art of Sitting orrrrrrrrrrrrr
Lovely loops! I found Catcha to be perfect for sitting...then maybe a quick dip, a snorkel or float, then back to sitting, then back in the water, maybe a quick rinse off in the shower in the cliff....
Re: Flashbacks From The Fine Art of Sitting orrrrrrrrrrrrr
ahhhhhhhhhh ohliz. i see you know the drill. that was a great shower at catcha...i took a pic of the view from it. hard to beat the outdoor showers at Rockhouse tho...view not great, but the acoustics and ambiance were so awesome. I could shower all day up there.
so next up, back in the van and we were off to middle quarters for some peppered shrimp. i took no pics there, but saw the biggest ginormous crayfish there! thing was the size of a lobster! the shrimp were great, wish i'd bought more. does anyone know how those are made?
after Middle Quarters we headed to meet our boat for transport to Pelican bar. I think we were in Parrotee. shot this community effort while we were waiting for our boat to ready.
and then we were off to lunch on the shallow seas.
Re: Flashbacks From The Fine Art of Sitting orrrrrrrrrrrrr
The Pelican Bar is a thatched roof bar located in the middle of a large sandbar just off Parrotee. One can wade or swim about the bar whilst waiting for your dinner of lobster or fish to be prepared. A truly unique experience. I was in awe of the place....great view of the shoreline and hillside from out there.
looks shakey? not so....while we were there...two full boatloads of people came to test out the load limit. i'm still here to talk about it.
