This won't be a day-by-day trip report. I just have a few stories and photos to share.

It's been a long hard winter for many reasons. Mr. Biscuit tells me to look at booking tickets for the kids and me, on points. I look, and it is either go in less than two weeks, or go after April. So I book.

The day (middle of the night) doesn't start out too well. Instead of waking to my alarm, or my dear husband gently waking me, I wake to the sounds of chaos. Boy Biscuit has vomitted all over himself, his sister and the bed. Sigh. Mr has it well in hand, though. What a gem.

We get to the airport in time, albeit a little later than we expected. All seems well, we board the plane. Then we sit, and we sit some more. Finally, they annouce that there is a mechanical problem. Then they announce that those with connections to Montego Bay and some other destination should disembark. Okkkkaaay. The good news, we were eventually put on a direct flight. The bad news, the flight was on a different airline, in a different terminal (that involved a mile walk, and taking my children outside with no coats), and arrived two hours later. Okay, we get there. SWEET!

Nanook had reminded me that the day after we get there is Donkey Race day, so I am psyched! I figure out what to wear to show off my reggae dot jewelry that Nanook has made me, Girl Biscuit has her hair braided, and Boy Biscuit seems in pretty good form. Off we go, with a dozen or so friends and kids up the road. I didn't take very good photos, but it was lots of fun. Here are a few.

She HAD to have a necklace from this guy. It was nice - hematite and rose quartz. Her one and only "present" I told her.



I didn't take too many photos here, and some that I did, I can't show. One kind of funny thing....my disk ran out of space, and I had to format a new one. In order to do that, the camera has to be perfectly level. I am looking around for a place to do that, and finally they tell me to do it on the grave there. Sigh.

The weather is spotty. It spits rain here and there, but not too much trouble. Finally, the dark starts to come, and those of us with kids in my group begin to leave. We set off on the road. One of the things that I love to take in there, is the way the Jamaican kids go on about my kids. They just can't wait to see them between trips, and when they get there, they are totally engulfed. Everyone has to push Boy's pram etc. We duck into several shops and so on, even though the walk is not long. Goodness knows we can't get rained on!! Nice nice day. one thing i've been wondering about this braiding business. You see how her scalp is so exposed there? how do you put sunscreen on that? if you do, doesn't it guck up her hair? doesn't her headtop get sunburned?

she's a cute lil munchkin....where's the boy peanut?

(((greenie)) loving your report.........and yes your daughter is growing and i see signs of the girl is about to become years from now.... adorable..

the scalp does indeed burn... if sunscreen isnt applied and you lay in sun... had it happen to me many many moons back.. but kids are on the move..

so were the donkey day races crowded??? did it feel great to be back?

shultz remember the photo of you nanoon and scarlet that was taken for me at donkey day.. wonder if i can find that somewhere...
